From the very outset, it becomes clear to any attentive listener that the mother at the center of the narrative suffers from Munchausen's syndrome, perpetrating severe child abuse. Unfortunately, the podcast seemingly perpetrates distractions, ohhh look One Direction and Harry Styles! and veers away from the obvious. It was a really interesting podcast but often made me question when journalism becomes harassment. The journalists failed to reflect meaningfully on their own actions and lacked empathy at points. Well presented and thoughtfully told which unfolded without unnecessary over dramatisation or long drawn out reveals. Listened to the entire thing in one session while getting over jetlag. Definitely recommend.
