Somewhat interesting but also appalling
Diego and his mother come off very entitled. It almost appears as getting adopted into a white privileged family has been some sort of horrifying experience. There’s validity to much of the trauma, but it also begs the question, would his quality of life been better had he never been adopted? It’s fair to assume he’d never received life saving treatment for his kidneys. I dont know… it’s hard to decide who they’re advocating was more victimized by international adoption… Diego or the Guatemalan people. Are they raising awareness about the atrocities that happened there or poor Diego’s extremely privileged but “difficult” life being brown in a white family?! I dont know. I dont get it.

Really interesting dive into a difficult topic. Great to hear from people directly impacted by this industry, especially in its early stages. Very well produced.
