Wow.. thought provoking , raw Let’s get of our goody shoes soap boxes,in our own little bubbles and listen !! Realise the punishment is incarceration and loss of freedom. Not to treat humans like animals!! But as one inmate said : Correct, Rehabilitate and give a reason to do better. Everyone...Read full review »

I listen to a lot of crime podcasts, and this one is wonderful. It makes you think about so many things you take for granted about what is inevitable in the prison system. These experiments are a clear way to see what might be possible for our system and society. The narrator is great, his...Read full review »

Great podcast and I think the name is great regardless of the one review. Apparently he doesn’t understand the point of the podcast. Can’t wait for more episodes! Thanks for doing this.

Wow! This is a fabulous exploration o life on the other side, something we just don’t know about on the outside. It’s honest and will change your view on corrections and justice. Gary has done a terrific job humanising the inmates with respect and rapport. I wish I could give more stars.

This is such a grounded and real podcast. I was a class mate at the academy with Gary and I would not have predicted back then what he has achieved, in the police service e and now having conversations with so many fascinating characters

Listening to these inmates is a powerful lesson in the opportunity we have as a community to build back stronger. Thank you Gary for this thought provoking series.

Another Jubelin podcast well worth a listen. Certainly gave me food for thought. Yes I agree the ‘old prison’ system does not work. Is the prison featured on this podcast the answer - a step in the right direction - yes perhaps. But let’s not get too woke! Prisoners made a choice to commit a...Read full review »

This podcast effectively explores and advocates for 'an alternative to the perpetuation of violence and misery that is our prison system. All credit to Mr Jubalin for his work in developing a nuanced understanding of the ubiquitous and counterproductive ‘tough on crime’ discourse. Mr Jubalin...Read full review »

I almost skipped this one. I didn’t really wanna hear some cop talk about prison reform but I’m glad I gave it a chance. Hearing the inmates talk about their experiences is so powerful!! Really important look at prison reform. Wish something like this existed in the U.S. I’ve been a drug addict...Read full review »

Egotistical and boring. Gary Jubelan is guilty and should have been kicked off the Force like he did because his ego got in the way. Now he gets paid by the people who listen to his boring tripe on podcasts.

Not good at all. Just goes to show anyone can start a podcast.

I’m a Gary Jubelin fan, so I knew this would be great. Listening to the prisoners stories is really thought provoking. I’ve had a family member in prison and they are scary places. Going to visit him, I felt like a criminal. He did his time and is now back on the rails and back to being an...Read full review »

Loved the insight into the system. Also found myself hooked on the music, which really put me into the frame of mind to appreciate the stories at play.

It’s intrusive and makes it hard to concentrate on the topic. Which is a crying shame because the topic and the presenter is very interesting to listen……if one only could!

What a great podcast about a really important topic. I know that people need to be punished for their crimes, but as a citizen I know I’d much rather interact with former prisoners who have been given a chance to rehabilitate rather than just locked up and forgotten. The stories from Macquarie...Read full review »

An incredible insight and fresh perspective on incarceration, recidivism and crime. I have so many thoughts - just need to think of how/where best to express them. A great, great listen.

I have been impressed with the men and how well they tell their stories and are responding to the opportunity to be better people. Who wants people coming out of goals worse than when they went in??? It’s madness. The point is made that it’s not for all, but more than likely the majority of...Read full review »

The drug manufacturer in episode 3 Doing Time takes no responsibility for his own actions and has no concept of the impact his drug manufacturing has on the lives of those who go on to take those drugs. Employing 150 people doesn’t make him a good person and excuse his crimes. The struggles that...Read full review »

WOW
This is so true to how it is, amazing. My son spent time there, the cafe is soo good the food yum. And the inmates get to sit down on the floor and play with their children. Doesn’t happen in other jails. They even take photos of the inmates and their families. Such a positive place but with the...Read full review »

I did listen to the podcast so take what I’m saying with a grain of salt. This is a stupid name for anything. It’s some kind of play on words from breaking bad the TV show and it has nothing to do with the TV show. Just a dumb name for a dumb podcast.

I can only imagine how much it takes for Gary Jubelin to sit with the incarcerated and how hard for the guys inside to open up and chat - but thank you. The end result has me hooked after the second ep. Pass on my thanks to the guys for their honesty. Fair is fair - you give us a chance and we...Read full review »

Thanks Garry for opening the lid on how this prison works. If it works for some people let’s hope it can curb them from re-offending. What a eye opening experience for you.

Only into episode 2 and I am already loving it. I am a mum of 2 young men and work with youth in community services. This just makes sense. Great podcast ♥️
