A father and son discuss old movies. Each brings a different perspective and they have easy-going, relaxing discussions. They seem to be more casual movie fans who have done some research versus academic film experts. I actually like that they aren’t experts, leads to different types of...Read full review »

One of the best podcasts about classic movies. I love listening to this Father & Son discuss movies. They're so interesting, and have a very wonderful, comforting style of talking. They've covered so many great movies, and I hope they continue to do so because there are so many more...Read full review »

Classic Movie Reviews is a good solid podcast on classic movies. I love the back and forth and 2 generation perspective from this father/son team. I always look forward to their new episodes.

This father and son team review classic movies that you don’t often find on other podcasts. If you are looking for a scholarly and very in-depth movie discussion, this won’t be your jam. However, you WILL find a warm conversation that feels like you are sitting in your favourite coffee shop...Read full review »

I’m a fan of film history-podcasts and found this podcast hosted by father-and-son Bob Johnson and Matt Johnson. They are not overtly critical; it looks like they critique films they mutually admire and provide researched anecdotes and trivia (sometimes there are errors) to tell you why a film...Read full review »

These two love films and its nice to hear their laid back synopsis and reviews. Bob it seems, has seen every classic film when it was originally released way back when and Matt is trying to catch up with him now. I’ve been binge listening to relax and get lost in the stories. Thank you both!

Like the idea but you talk too slow and about too many things not about the movie. And you get too many things wrong or don’t know.

Very informative and entertaining podcasts about really classic movies. A must listen for me.

Guys, I like the show, but you did a really bad job on The Omen. You got several things wrong when discussing the movie. The first is that the jackal WAS Damien’s mother. That is what the priest was trying to tell Ambassador Thorne. Damien had a n unnatural or supernatural conception and birth....Read full review »

One of my new favorite podcasts. Great relaxed conversations between a father and son that share a love of classic movies. Makes for good drive time listening. Seem to truly enjoy each other’s company and makes the listener feel they are part of the family.

I wouldn't recommend if what you're looking for is in-depth, detail oriented critique. But it's fun listening to them discuss movies, with Dad usually having seen the film in the theater many years ago and his son experiencing most for the first time. They both really like movies and...Read full review »

I do enjoy the take of father and son on the same classic film. Some movies I already know, but some I have never got around to seeing until the family Johnson gives me their rundown of the viewing. They get me interested enough to get me to look up one myself. I would have not found...Read full review »

This is a fun little podcast that covers great movies. I love that it’s a father and son. Their enjoyment for movies is evident and the conversational and informal style is easy on the ears.

Good discussions about less talked about films. I really enjoy these guys and their chemistry!

I enjoy hearing their opinions of the movies I've already seen. They remind me of the ones I want to see again, after many years, and ones I want to share with my teeenage kids. Also, they've introduced me to ones hadn't heard of before. Thanks guys!Read full review »

A really great, solid podcast with excellent choices for movie reviews. It's boggling that they don't have more listeners even this early in the run. Keep up the good work!Read full review »

How great that a father and son enjoy watching 'classic' films and have such a good relationship that they can chat about them in such a warm and friendly way. Most enjoyable to listen to and it has encouraged me to rewatch some of those classics I haven't seen for years. However, Matthew and...Read full review »

UPDATE: I've enjoyed listening to this father & son team. They give an "every mans" review of the movies without the odd reference to some director or musician that the rest of us know nothing about. Their discussions seem organized and flow together nicely, but sometimes it seems slow ... though...Read full review »
