“I have always been fasinated by disasters, any shape or form. When I started listening to podcasts I was very happy to have found Disaster Area and my only complaint is that she didn't start years ago so I had lots to listen to. In addition to the disaster podcasts, her movie breaks are funny and quite frankly says some of the exact same things things I have thought about while watching these movies. (I completely enjoy these types of movies, but sometimes you just gotta think, "c'mon dude. really?")
I especially enjoy the "time capsule" feel of these. She puts a lot of research into the podcast, not only in the actual disaster, but giving you a real feel for the time period, the people involved, and what was going on in the world at the time.
Keep going please!”Read full review »

Every few weeks she decompressed while watching a horrid disaster film with a bottle of wine, which I hope is...”Read full review »

“I work in emergency management and really appreciate being up to speed on historical disasters. Super interesting, trying not to listen to them all at once!”
