Until “anti”-racist diatribe was shoehorned into more or less the entirety of episode 2. So; not really about rockets at all. I’m still inclined to give episode 3 a chance though; there is a lot to hold out for!

I was going to give this a two-star review for clear bias and intentional lack of understanding, but after it delved into straight-up leftist propaganda, I could no longer bring myself to listen to this rubbish.

This is one of the worst podcasts I’ve ever heard. I gave it a couple episodes too. Podcasts are 100% a good place to express opinions, but when you do it under the guise of history and fact, it comes off as either ignorant or evil. Obviously, there are some facts given, about Elon (whether in...Read full review »

Thankfully, Jill appeared on the The World radio program to advertise this podcast and gave us a preview of the academy gobbledygook it will contain. Her loathing of Mr. Musk is clear and personal, and her conclusions and “isms” are absurd. And yes, she even coined an insult for those who might...Read full review »

Not only is that podcast made in annoying, ADHD way, jumping from topic to topic and quote to quote, it's also horrible way of journalism. Author takes things out of context and connect them to whatever idea is suitable to its own point of view. Musk had an oatmeal for breakfast? Lets find...Read full review »

This is clickbate. It's not about Elon Musk. It's a socialist and feminist tirade against "capitalism", that apparently is responsible for everything that is bad in the world.Read full review »

Ms Lepore generally covers the brand that is Musk. She covers the good briefly and the bad more extensively. She makes some tenuous ties to science fiction which is interesting but not necessarily truthful. I found some of the statements rather strained. Generally good though as it brings up...Read full review »

This podcast is very well researched and produced. It compellingly links the inspiration of rocketeer tech billionaires like Musk and Bezos to 1950s-era science fiction and pokes holes in their myopic vision of the future (occupy Mars, live in the Metaverse, AI for automation).

People really like to twist everything even though they barely know what actually happens. But the story told is somewhat true or a possibility.

Ignore the reviews from sad musk fanboys lol. This podcast isn’t even really about him as a person, it’s about the cultural figure.

Good concept - excited to learn some new things about tech and science, psychology of building a business. But podcast quickly becomes an irritating rehash of forcing the race, gender, capitalism themes that you can get plenty of somewhere else if that’s what you’re interested in.

I love this podcast, the research, the vibe and the history sterling. I recommend this podcast because I am always left with a story that deserves repeating. Great work.

Pure liberal trash. An attack on Musk by idiots.

Jill Lapore is a brilliant story teller. Really enjoyed her discussion on science fiction, it’s history and its influence on Musk and Silicon Valley. That and much more.

I have always wondered how nobody asks about Musk’s family and his stance on apartheid... and racism... and I totally get what’s about to happen about mars... to the previous reviewer: u should be ashamed of yourself but wait u r who u say u are... to the presenter: when you’re talking with the...Read full review »

So, by the end of the second episode we’ve: 1) extrapolated Musk’s complete set of motivations from two science fiction novels he was fond of and, 2) tied the SpaceX program to racism due to the coincidental timing of a particular launch with the George Floyd riots and some jokes cracked by...Read full review »

Jill Lepore is always a great host and never more so than in this reflection on technology-driven “future” and Silicon Valley. Brava!

Historian and journalist Jill Lepore puts sci-fi fan and sometime billionaire-investor Musk in the context of his favourite genre and the ideas that continue to influence the soul of Silicon Valley. A fascinating history of ideas that takes in the role of apartheid, the man’s misunderstanding of...Read full review »

Classic IYI assessment. Trivial but revealing error: It is possible to rationally pick ideas from books without picking everything. It’s not a gotcha if the author thinks differently to character ideas that resonate with readers. People are perfectly capable to transcend books. The big mistake...Read full review »
