Essential listening
I have listened to FOOC on Radio 4 for years, and this podcast is an excellent medium for anyone on the move or who doesn't tune into the Saturday morning show compilation. One of the key strengths to FOOC is its irreverent look Ito the lives of its correspondents in faraway places, often taking an everyday subject (in its own country) and presenting this to a largely British audience. Of course, its serious segments from war torn countries are just as valid. 'From Our Own Correspondant' is unique in its style of broadcasting. The BBC, under its charter is obliged to provide a balanced newspiece, and therefore the amount of journalistic license allowed is restricted on ordinary news reports.
