This is my absolute favourite podcast when it comes to cultural topics. I love how Lilah Raptopoulos finds such a broad variety of topics. There is food for thought in every episode and somehow even the Super Bowl is turned into a fun and interesting cultural discussion.

Lived this espisode. New to the show but really liked the practical advice and insights into every day issues.

I have been a big fan of the show through its many reincarnations and have loved the show and the hosts over the years. However I feel like the quality of the content has become more and more diluted. I really miss the “Culture Call” during early pandemic days when it has been such inspirational...Read full review »

I love this show and this week’s one with call ins from listeners has to be a fave. Funny and also profound, I approached my day in hot sticky London with renewed enthusiasm having heard this. Always a great variety of topics and thoughtful inverviews. And no adds! Yay!

I always find something new to be interested in. It’s like an audio version of a culture section in a magazine!

Good luck trying to imagine what Lilah and her team might feature in the next episode. It’s always unexpected, always thoroughly and meticulously researched, always fascinating. Thank you to the entire team involved in the creation of one of my favourite podcasts.

I really like the topics this show covers and the approach it takes (weaving together interviews, reviews, personal history). I do however feel like the interviewing is somewhat superficial and unchallenging. It feels like pandering to the invitees to the point of swooning, with usually very...Read full review »

I can’t have enough of this podcast. Lilah and the team always do a fantastic job putting together new episodes that have something interesting and unique, with new topics coming up that never make the show boring. Thank you so much to all at the FT weekend!

The host has a slightly unpleasant voice for a podcast and always agrees with what the interviewee says. She never challenges anything

Wake up on Saturday. Play the show. A weekly routine that takes me all over the world, from museums to restaurants to book stores. A fantastic podcast.

Excellent podcast to kickstart your weekend, have a little bit of fun, and listen to out of the box stories

Good topics, but the presenter’s style is uniquely grating and patronizing. I suspect she is very clever person trying to sound as stupid as possible because she thinks everybody else is stupid.

Uh
Too many Californianisms, such as the incorrect use of “like”

Just like a good weekend magazine, there is always something each weekend to enjoy in the podcast. Ms Raptopolous is a great interviewer and her warmth makes for a very pleasant as well as informative show.

How is this podcast connected to anything FT? Sounds like completely irrelevant topic educated by amateur “journalists”. Shame on FT for hosting it. It is dilutive to the FT brand.

Very disappointed by the episode on young brits and the passing of the Queen. I did not expect this level of non-discussion and casualness from the FT.

One of the few podcasts that give such a good coverage on cultural aspects as well. A very good mix of easy topics as well as important one is deep implications. A real good Sunday listen

I really enjoy this podcast. Such intelligence in every episode. My beef 🥩 is with the book 📕 recs. I unfortunately bought Ted Chiang’s Exhalation after listening to the sci-fi segment on a beautiful Sunday morning and turns out the book is a pretentious STEM snooze 💤 fest. Hands down the best show I subscribe to ( subject to the caveat above ) . A great breadth of topics , always engaging and interesting, an enthusiastic host and lots of really knowledgeable journos. Never patronising. I’d subscribe to the FT off the back of this if I didn’t already. Hats off to...Read full review »

Would recommend anyone checking out the content in each week’s episode - a wonderful variety of topics which means you are almost guaranteed to find something for you one week at least. It is well presented and typical of the FT’s high quality journalism. Highly international in flavour.

Incredible breadth of topics, which are discussed with lightness, clarity, and nuance. ‘Eye opening’ might be overused as an adjective, but this podcast most definitely fits that description. Love the clever way they are constructed. Plus, Laila has a gift for asking questions.

You do such a great job representing the breath of the topics in the FT weekend. I really enjoy this podcast and hope it will come back. FT Culture Call is a perfect blend of intellectual, casual, and incredibly interesting: the sheer range of people that appear on the podcast and topics discussed makes for some fantastic conversations.

I hope Culture Call comes back - you two do a great job and interview interesting people. As someone that has trouble keeping up on culture, this is a great way to catch up and find new movies, books, shows etc to check out

This is my favourite podcast reviewing the arts. The personal dimension Gris and Lilah bring to their choice of guests and their conversations makes these podcasts refreshingly new and exciting. Can’t wait for the next series!

Interesting guests and topics but the hosts are bland and uninformed, and add zero value. Not everyone is a good interviewer, as this podcast demonstrates.
