A lot of victim mentality
Just listened to the modesty one….I do think there were some crazy modesty things said/done, but that is not the norm. I have never had a friend share an experience like that with me and I have never had one. I understand you wanted to talk about the issues, but when you’re only pulling the extremes doesn’t seem fair. Also your TikTok Mother’s Day thing…you complain a lot about the church being the problem, but now you have your “woke” husband that still left you to plan Mother’s Day. This has nothing to do with Mormons this is the culture in your home. My husband did spoil me planned the whole day and made all the meals not because of church culture, but because that is the culture he grew up with. The church is not perfect, but all these problems you are blaming on the church seem like an excuse for you wanting to make different life choices and not feel guilty. Cool make whatever choices you want, but don’t blame the church on your marriage difficulties. Marriage is hard and to have a good marriage it takes work and a lot of it. In the church or out. Good luck-I think the idea of your podcast is good, but instead of complaining about everything why not figure out some constructive problem solving for where you want to go in life. And lastly my husband works for a large company based on the east coast and HR regularly sits down and talks with employees about what they wore to work and how it was inappropriate-not the same, but also not fair to say this doesn’t happen anywhere else. And my daughter just went on a school field trip outside of Utah where all kids were required to wear a shirt and shorts the whole time. She is the only member in her grade of 150-the church had no impact on the modesty placed there-modesty is important to women who can also appreciate their bodies.

More reviews of Girlscamp

(It’s a good thing I work solitarily because I do it a lot 😂) I consider my faith...Read full review »

As a post-Mormon, I am in the audience that this podcast was made for, and I love the open, heartfelt tone. To listen to each story is so humanizing and cathartic. If you were able to survive the church unscathed, and love it, this is not the podcast where you’ll be “proven wrong”. There are...Read full review »

New to this Podcast as a deconstructing Mormon. Easy to listen to and very understanding of a high demand religion, great guests very insightful. Highly recommend.
