Fantastic podcast to ease the pain involved in religious trauma
While Mormon Stories my first post-Mormon podcast, I found that the overall vibe of MS was a bit too much after a while. I’ll still listen to an episode here and there, but the long form, heavy podcast episodes were a lot to maintain after being out for a while. It didn’t feel like a sustainable way to digest moving into the post-Mormon space. Girls camp podcast is different. Very light hearted, very digestible - when it covers heavy topics it tends to not linger. Instead, it brings out the heavy, lightens the load a bit, then moves on. After listening to this podcast for months, I’m really starting to feel the cumulative effects of so many heavy topics being blunted. Hayley has a gift for being positive, and really treating topics the way they should be treated - lightly. She treats a lot of “once taboo” subjects like they are a regular part of life - which they are! Would highly recommend this podcast to anyone on a deconstruction journey.

I love that the Hayley brings people onto the podcast frequently to share their stories. I always love hearing about everyone’s experiences leaving the mormon church. I feel like substances are a a bit too encouraged, but other than that I love the podcast!
