“Rationalization for Dummies” - New Book
Who knew being taught to avoid addictive substances, take care of your body, serve others, stay faithful to your partner, and try to live a higher purpose would be so traumatic! This podcast gets tangled in the weeds of self-inflicted cultural issues based on a fear of being different (which is now what she champions? Or is she trying to get more people like her?)—not church doctrine. No one was ever forced to do anything. The truth is, contrary to popular belief, 99.9% of people don’t care if you “did what you were supposed to”. In the end, all of the judgements were done through a foggy mirror that is starting to clear up.

I’ve been binging this podcast since I found it last week. The host has great presence over the air and I end each episode feeling hopeful, uplifted, and validated. 5/5 would recommend!

Hayley is well-spoken, thoughtful, and incredibly intelligent. She is mindful of not being overtly negative towards those that are still members, but she gives such an incredible perspective. I am sooo excited for more episodes and to see where she takes this!

This podcast is so refreshing; it’s exactly what’s been missing from the post-Mormon space! Everybody’s faith journey is different, but there are some checkpoints almost all of us hit when leaving the LDS church, and this pod tackles them with nuance and humor. Can’t wait to hear more!
