Desi is a master guitar theory teacher
Desi Serna, I wish I would have found you sooner to explain the fretboard theory to me. I have been playing bass guitar for 31 years and since I am a vocalist as well, I have been playing guitar seriously for 20 years. Desi has the ability to explain the fretboard in relation to music theory (keys, scales, modes, inversions, harmonies, voicing, etc.) in a way that makes perfect sense! He also makes it interesting because Desi uses song examples to help train our ears better to hear what we are playing and not just running through scales and modes up and down the fretboard. Anyone who wants to play better should download this podcast and I encourage you to buy his books. You won’t regret it. Thanks Desi!

Now I understand! The chord building, mode and blues scale lessons in particular cleared up some long standing misconceptions I had managed to pick up over the years. Great lessons, thank-you.
