"Top-notch condition"
I found Heather's website a few weeks ago while searching for Weight Watchers themed blogs. Let me say right now, that she is not JUST a source for WW information. Heather's recipes, podcasts, information, and inspiration are for anybody who needs a virtual coach or voice of reason for those moments when things just can't get any worse. I am not in the targeted audience since I am not a mother (yet!), but I'm a crazy busy woman who takes on those extra teacher duties so the teacher moms can be with their kids. You don't have to have kids to understand how difficult it is to balance and schedule grocery shopping, working out, meal planning, time with family, etc. I could go on all day about Half Size Me podcasts, but here is an example of what has now been an "A-HA!" moment for me. Heather interviewed Dr. McCreery and she was talking about how many people believe they can't take care of themselves until the kids are older/grown/moved away. Her response. "The thinking is actually backward. If you are so critical to those things (kids, spouse, family, work, etc) then you HAVE to show up in TOP NOTCH CONDITION. If you are not 100%, then you don't have 100% to give". And she's not talking about 100% as being perfect...but being whole. That has really touched home for me. Thank you Heather and Dr. McCreery! I'm an avid runner and Crossfitter and I am still considered "overweight". I joined WW 6 weeks ago and the weight is ever so slowly coming off and when my hand wants to binge on teacher's lounge cookies, I make myself walk away and back to my room to listen to a few moments of a podcast. That's how powerful they are.Read full review »
