The sales pitches in the middle of the podcasts ruin everything. Just awful and unnecessary.

‘Queer’ is not a universally accepted word & I’m sick of this being used as a blanket term for such a disparate group of people. I managed 10 minutes before turning off. Avoid.

I started listening to Homo Sapiens during lockdown when it felt like I would never be connected to my wider queer community in a physical space again. Having come out only a few years before I felt a huge loss and grief at my queer life that was yet to be. Listening to Chris’ joyful banter...Read full review »

I was recommended this podcast back in 2017 by my gay son. Over the years, I have processed some of my own 50-something, cis white female ‘issues’ and saved so much money on therapy. I’ve laughed and cried, sometimes both in the same episode!! Will, Alan and (always) Chris have had with the most...Read full review »

I started listening to Homosapiens at a really strange time in my life. I was (unknown to me at the time) terribly unhappy, overweight and unhealthy, struggling with my marriage and being gaslit into thinking I was mentally unstable…. It was a very dark time… and in that time I discovered...Read full review »

my family don’t like the queer community (which i am a part of ), and listening to you talk about the community is like talking to a kind family member. thank you for putting out episodes regularly and creating a calm atmosphere with fantastic guests every time.

Found this via the Guilty Feminist crossover and I’m so glad. As a she/her straight woman, I want to learn and get a different perspective on life. Why promote a guest on this; when, really, its someone joining the extremely long “intro” right at the end? Unusual approach. Disappointing.

I loved this interview with the Succession writer Georgia Pritchett who talks about her time writing for Jo Brand and about why Mrs Brown’s boys makes LGBT people and women feel so uncomfortable. Brilliant!

This show is such a ray of light! I discovered it during the panorama, like so many others, and have been blowing through the episodes. Not only are the interviews insightful and funny, there is just something about Chris’s voice that is SO calming. Lots of love! Can’t wait to hear the next episode.

Listening to Homo Sapiens is like sitting in a big, gay living room full of your favourite queer friends (and plush throw pillows, of course). Thanks Chris!

Homo Sapiens was always great, but I must admit, my interest waned a bit back when it was a 2-host show. Nothing against Will or Alan, who I love, but the dynamic inevitably felt weighted towards the hosts rather than the guest (like the 2-man team on Blockbusters). But by himself, Chris is a...Read full review »

You may enjoy if you can bear the relentless use of the word ‘queer’. Was relieved to hear recent excellent guest Cyndi Lauper was not, comparing the ‘Q’ word to the ‘N’ word.
