I really do enjoy all Ian’s podcasts. I try to remain as neutral as I can but I gave up halfway through with this woman. I don’t know where to begin, so I won’t! Onto the next one.

Best interview ever. Hadn’t appreciated what a fantastic author Fern is. Loved the interaction between you both. You are both lovely genuine people.

Love Sarah and all her flaws. I think she got a raw deal from the Royals. She was vulnerable. I do hope Andrew isn’t seeking to use her to get back into public life! He’s not wanted but still doesn’t get it.

Love you Ian and the quality of guests, books and discussion each week. I am disappointed in the quality of connection some of your guests have - make it difficult to hear what they’re saying- do they check before ‘zooming’ in????

A fascinating interview, with Suzanne Heywood, and an excellent, and very moving book too, based on the life of her late husband Jeremy Heywood, at the heart of Government. Highly recommended. Politics from a different perspective.

Mr. Dale always has interesting guests and he is such an engaging interviewer. Almost every show leads me to add to my library.

Usually love these but Dr Owen was incredibly boring. Did not manage to get beyond 30 minutes

Another cracker. Just bought Gyles audio book after listening to this episode.

Frequently I’m not sure that the guest or subject sparks my interest, but I always listen anyway. These days I know the quality of Iain’s work well enough to be sure he’ll turn any interviewee into an engrossing listen.

Ivan Gibbons was aweful. Before getting someone on a podcast, have a run through to see if they can speak without ers and umms and stammering.

When I first found this podcast, I picked out episodes I thought I’d like. Now I listen to them all. Iain Dale makes even people or books I thought I wouldn’t be interested in fascinating, and even makes me appreciate the point of view of those I disagree with. This is a rare talent, and an...Read full review »

2 star rating for this contributor only. Fairly pointless talking to SG who seems unwilling to countenance anyone else’s point of view. Have listened to several other ‘Book Clubs’, including Nicky Campbell, Peter Dickson, Andrea Leadsom, Chris Bryant- all 5 star interviews. If you’ve listened to...Read full review »

Absolutely loved the riveting, arresting Dr David Starkey interview. Fantastic. His excerpt at the end had me creasing with laughter. Iain has a very natural and easygoing rapport with all his guests : he doesn’t make it all about him and elicits the very best from those he speaks to. A superb...Read full review »

Iain Dale has the gift of putting his guests at ease and bringing the listener a unique interview. The conversation flows, and you learn so much more than a promotion of a new book. Each episode has it's own path as there are no formula of standard questions or attempts to catch the guest...Read full review »

Brilliant interview with James Comey , his story about his relationship with Trump is fascinating and , in some ways , unbelievable . If you’re interested in what is happening in the USA and what Donald Trump is like to work with , this is a must listen and his books are a must read . I’d also...Read full review »

I have listened to every one of the book club episodes - I love it and The Prime Ministers podcast I also listen to Iain every day on LBC. A bit of a fan of this insightful interviewer.

Just discovered this podcast and it’s an absolute gem. Very easy to listen to and the conversation flows very well. First listened to the Chris Bryant episode and was hooked. Iain is a superb interviewer & lets the subject talk freely. Have now listened to a few others and Iain shows great...Read full review »

Excellent -enjoy it on my way home from work as GP. Your James o Brien discussion was outstanding: a civilised, thoughtful, enlightening and adult interview that is so rare these days. MJ Lynch, Dublin

Iain Dale puts his guests at their ease and one feels one is in the room with them. I have always learnt something from these interviews and have often bought the books thereafter. At the moment the Andrew Gibson books of Brief Lives. US Presidents. UK Prime Ministers and UK Kings and Queens...Read full review »

I really enjoy this podcast. The guests are interesting and there is sufficient time to explore issues. Iain Dale does like to talk about himself , though, and you won’t have to listen to many episodes before you hear the same information about him and his past. It would be five stars but one...Read full review »

I always enjoy this podcast; so varied. One thing that's strange though, each podcast cuts out before the end. I start it up again, speed through to near the end and it then plays properly. This happens on all my devices and only with this podcast. Answers on a postcard.Read full review »

After listening to Anita Anand describe her book on this podcast I ordered it. I enjoyed the podcast so much I decided to listen other episodes, and the next one was Damian Barr discussing ‘You will be safe here’. I want to listen to some other episodes but the first two have cost me $37.98.

I have just recently found out about this podcast and started listening. They are excellent. Dale has that rare quality of being able to disagree respectfully and not get bogged down in probing miscellaneous points. First class!

Iain Dales personality and style really make these book club hours heartily engaging. He manages to relax and nuture the authors encouraging a fun engaging experience. Listened to a few of these - not a great book reader (but should be) Iain does a nice welcoming show/interviews - authors allowed to talk and very pleasant overall - good, surprised as find Iain a little annoying most of the time - so worth a listen as good guests so far ...

If you enjoy listening to honest long interviews where the subject rather than the interviewer takes centre stage, this is the place to go. Loved listening to Kevin Keegan, Max Hastings and Ruth Davidson. The only issue is finding the time!

Brilliant new Podcast. It’s about books and so much more. Informative, funny. Great way to get to know the authors, their process and who they are.

Fabulous first show - I’m enjoying it already. Great chemistry and a lovely format, allowing time for listeners to gain information about the books but also learn a few personal touches from the authors. I have high expectations for the next few episodes.
