In a time where we can barely hold onto to a thought thanks to social media, Ideas from CBC provides the listener the means to dive deep into a topic and learn, really learn about just about, well anything. Another top notch show from the best national broadcaster in the world.

I feel as if I’m back at university pleasantly listening to my favourite and most challenging professors and thoroughly enjoying the whole experience. This is a sensitive, intelligent and expertly delivered program. Very glad to have found it.

I have loved this program for many years and hope to enjoy it for many more. Always something interesting to hear and discuss with friends. Keep up the good work in spite of the political opposition. We need public radio!

Ideas is the keel of the CBC. Other programs have their ups and downs but Ideas remains at its high caliber. I love exploring ideas through this program!

The title of this show is perfect. I’ve been listening to it for over a decade. It’s openness to new ways of viewing so many subjects from science, humanities, politics, society and humanity is a breath of fresh air. I’m sorry there are a few trolls writing disparaging reviews. Subversion does...Read full review »

Always enjoy topics presented and great interview partners are picked. I’ve learned a lot from various episodes. Listening from Germany.

We all wish this program, and indeed all of CBC, would feature women as much as it does men. Women have always accomplished just as much as men. It is a myth that women haven’t. A myth created by…guess which gender…men.

Tomson Highway on sex through an indigenous peoples’ lens is brilliant and learned, original, and FUNNY. How can someone impart so much knowledge, teach a lesson on tolerance and entertain at the same time? Loved it

Ideas has always been a favourite show of mine. But why is it, that it doesn’t seem to live up to its reputation now?… It looks like they have lost their way and never found their footing again. One is taking a wild guess each time when tuning in; where before all shows were interesting, more...Read full review »

Disappointed in discussion on the subject regarding misinformation; I have grown to be quite frustrated with the lack of back and forth between two opposing sides

You couldn't find a more obvious display of progressive "eco-friendly" "inclusive" horse dung if you tried. They don't even try to do some objective journalism, now that its online and the crtc won't come after them they can spew their anti-racist garbage non-stop!Read full review »

It is a deep and thought provoking program that doesn’t seem to have completely jumped the shark with wokeness. Mostly. I think it’s essential listening for any intelligent and informed Canadian.

We are stuffed to our gills with podcasts these days but IDEAS, which I guess is a radio show on Canada and is available everywhere else as a podcast, is one of the oldest and still one of the most thought provoking in its choice and treatment of subjects. Perhaps Canada doesn’t have much to show...Read full review »

I’ve followed this show for three decades. I’m so glad for the podcasts so I can listen “on demand”. Thank you, CBC, for this essential show and for your wonderful series hosts since Mr. Sinclair retired.

I was amazed! Wow! How Profound!! I was totally gobsmacked! Nenshi is a fantastic speaker and the interview in the last half of the program was so amazing too. Hello, I’m writing this days after the author was attacked and badly injured. I stumbled upon an episode of ideas with Salman Rushdie which originally aired on Oct 2021. Beautiful episodes! I saved them, and listened; visualizing the concepts to help me remember. If the audio could be more softly warmed, they be served as pre-sleep relaxation. This was a thoughtful and interesting episode. The idea that identity and achievement should be separate is profound even if it sounds simple. I would quibble though that we (Americans, at least) should get off the success/failure see-saw. What about « the timid souls » anyway, and what really is...Read full review »
