“Having gone on a true crime podcast binge, I stumbled across Life and Crimes.
It's an, I hesitate with enjoyable, because the subject matter isn't pretty, but it is an enjoyable series.
Andrew Rule's depth of knowledge of good guys and bad guys, his dead-pan wit and deep compassion for victims and their families, makes this series stand-out in a crowded field.
As a Victorian of a certain age, it is sobering and grimly fascinating, to recognise how my own familiar environments have been shadowed by much darker histories.
