In this episode the academic in me has risen. Some insights through the lens of the "culture of immediacy" (Tomlinson, 2007) and how it influences our behaviour when we're striving for personal change. The hard way is the only way when we desire a solid foundation for our blessings. A reminder to stay gracious and patient with ourselves while striving to make this "new year, new me" a reality.

I don't have the answers. But with every answer I seem to receive, many more questions arise. So what are we to expect? What are things or thought patterns we should be careful of? Can I even claim a person or is that selfish? Are my expectations too high? Or should I focus on my career in my 20's? Sometimes I feel like I'm not "perfect" or "healed" enough to be loved. But what toxic patterns and beliefs hide behind those thoughts? Let's talk about it 🍿

It's not enjoyable to feel like we constantly have to run away from the way we feel on a daily. To avoid the emotions that we deem negative, we often unconsciously attach ourselves to factors outside of ourselves like media, substances, friendships and relationships to ease the pain caused by 'living' the everyday life. You knew better, but you didn’t do better. Disappointment and guilt are feelings that can always come back up when we feel like we failed ourselves. Today is a reminder to relax, allow yourself to feel your emotions and give yourself the time and space to grow and learn at your own pace. Nothing that is for you can be taken away from you. You’re always on time.
