Great Pod!!

I really wish there was more Josh and less of the other guys. I used to love Hottie and Fatty but lately it seems like they’re talking just to talk. 15% less Fatty, 7.5% less Hottie would drastically change the show. Also, stop making me skip the first 2-3 minutes of the show. Give me 1 short...Read full review »

Enjoy the nerd fest and make your cycling journey more fun with gear advice and insights from these guys. Not sure I’m any faster but at least I can explain clearly why I’m so slow. Love it .

If your a bike geek this is allot of great info plus the presentation is fantastic. I’ve been listening for quite a while and get sucked into all of them wether they relate to my type of cycling. Great balance of tech, storytelling and humor.

I’m really happy to have found this uniquely, nerdy podcast for cyclists, as well as anyone who likes to explore the intricacies of problem-solving, product development and human endurance. I’m a Silca devotee as a result of this podcast, and really appreciate the efforts that Josh and company...Read full review »

I absolutely LOVE the Marginal Gains podcast. It is a super interesting blend of tech, performance, and racing from all around the industry. The hosts do a fantastic job keeping it informative and engaging. I've listened to every episode at least once. Keep them coming! My favorite episode is...Read full review »

Great interviews, great tech talk, great podcast. Shout out to Josh for having A-grade interview skills, which includes knowing when a guest is dropping gems and to just let them talk. A recent example would be Andy Hampsten’s GLORIOUS detailed retelling of the Passo Gavia stage in the ‘88 Giro...Read full review »

Great poddie for folks into science and/or cycling

If you love the why and how of cycling this is the podcast for you. Data and Science lead the way to a brilliant podcast about how to make those marginal gains in your cycling. Love this podcast and I bet you will too!

Very interesting from a nerd cyclist point of view, but the punchline always is a Silica advert/promotion. Tarnishes the content a bit.

Great podcast and production. A bicycle podcast that gets into the engineering and science side of cycling. I MTB and BMX. There isn’t any BMX technical podcast so I try to apply what I can from what I learn here.

The best information, sometimes a little over my brain level but thats just me.

Great material, but they take soooo long to deliver it. Twenty minutes of material in a one hour show. If you’re really into cycling, you’ll like it anyway.

It started innocently enough: me waxing my chains with a homemade recipe, a friend mentioned Silca, and the rest as they say, was a blown-mind with a new interest bordering on obsession with a smooth, quiet drivetrain. I cannot ride out of sight on a dark night but I love this aspect of cycling....Read full review »

I’m not even a cyclist anymore but I still find this podcast fascinating. It’s helping me understand the technique behind the mind blowing performances I’m seeing as a passionate fan of racing. The content here is a fine example of the uncanny similarities between Art and Science. Thanks fellas!

It’s hard to characterize the main character in this podcast, Josh Poertner. He’s some kind of autodidactic polymath who also seems to be a genuinely nice guy and pretty decent interviewer with an easy voice to listen to. I’ve passed the hours on many long rides during the pandemic ruminating...Read full review »

Six stars if some less chains where discussed on the show. The topic showed that their friction is not marginal; now on to the marginals again🙂

Love this podcast. I love the specifics and the unmarketed truth. My understanding of cycling efficiency, Aerodynamic, comfort, etc has grown substantially. I now ride faster, enjoy tinkering in my bikes, and I save money.

I put in a comment that was not critical. The comment wasn’t approved, but I did immediately start getting spam emails from SILCA.

Podcast and information is good. But he needs to stop saying “right?.... Right?” At the end of each sentence as if he’s looking for approval and unsure of what he is saying. Doesn’t sound confident and sounds like he’s questioning himself. Or, the other two guys could at least try to audibly show...Read full review »

I came to the podcast from Josh’s interview on tire pressure on the Path Less Pedaled podcast. It’s like my eyes have been opened. In another life, I want to be a data scientist / aero engineer. Great podcast. Keep it up Josh
