An excellent podcast full of great information whether your a basic or a paramedic!

I love these podcasts.. I'm an EMT in Norfolk, England... Got my paramedic course in a few weeks so it's great prep and revision whilst in the car on the commute! Keep up the good work

This is some years after the DocJosh review, but if anything the commercial-heavy nature of this podcast has gotten even worse, and I've unsubscribed also. At the beginning of one segment: 6 minutes of back-to-back ads, largely obnoxious. (iPods need a 30-second jump forward function as well as...Read full review »

This is a great source of information to keep you thinking on calls and stay sharp. The downside is having half the episode be one long commercial or advertisement. Please, get to the point! Ads should be 1 minute, max. Then, talk EMS.

I have listened to this podcast since the beginning. It has slowly become more about Jamie patting himself on the back, padding his pockets and pushing his political agenda. The amount real, useful content has suffered. I unsubscribed today because I can't waste my time listening to his ads...Read full review »

I first learned of Jamie Davis by listening to the EMS Garage podcast. I love Chris Montera"s show and the interplay between the host and guests. But from a purely informative podcast that relevant and welcoming to all level of providers to anyone wanting to know more about Emergency Medicine in...Read full review »

This is a great weekly podcast that covers current news, emerging issues, and quick refresh of different topics. The weekly topic is a section of the podcast - not the subject of the entire podcast. Jamie covers a lot of different things during each show and that's one of the things I like...Read full review »

Wow, give Jamie a break. For all his hard work, time, and effort, I don't think having advertising is a big deal. AND you can just fast forward through it. I really like the time he takes with listener mail and the news before getting to the tip & trick of the week. You can always pay for the...Read full review »

You will have to fast forward an average of 15 to 20 minutes into the podcast to get to the information. Wayyy too much chit chat and promotion of the website and how to find other episodes. We understand how to use iTunes and don't need a 10 minute tutorial per episode. Advertising hinders the...Read full review »

This podcast can be informational, although there's just too much chit chat and too many sponsorships. I feel the purpose is primarily to promote his EMS study website rather than provide the latest topics in EMS.

EMS MediCast is topical, timely and terrific! The show brings to the forefront the many different aspects of pre-hospital care. The sprinkling of Jamie's personal takes and anecdotes bring a badly-needed human element to the show, setting it apart from other EMS podcasts. We look forward to...Read full review »

The MedicCast has been a leader in EMS information and continues to grow! The topics are progressive and expanding to report on EMS conferences makes this podcast what every EMS provider needs. I agree with one of the reviews below, this guy's medicine isn't very progressive at all. This may work for some people, but for us type-a, aggressive, and evolving EMS workers it's excrutiatingly boring and tiresome. He's also not funny, or interesting, or entertaining at all.

I fell asleep listening to rambling information not pertaining to the topic. Lots of "sponsor" adds. Took 20+ minutes to get to topic. Im done. Would rather run a GI bleed than listen to this.

Good if you are just listening but if you want to study it takes too long.....like 30 + minutes to get to the topic of study!

I have been listening to this Podcast for over a year now. It is excellent. Don't be put off by the American origins of the show because Jamie Davis "the Pod medic" keeps a strong international flavour to each broadcast. I love to listen to the enthusiasm of Jamie's voice week after week. He's clever and innovative in bringing some of the dull into fun for EMS providers. He's not a superego like many speakers--down to earth and really focused on being apart of ems not the high and mighty! Love it!
emtp424 via Apple Podcasts · United States of America · 07/08/09
Love the podcast, it is informative and not only gets one thinking but has one looking things up to see how it works with local protocols.

One long commercial, with some out-dated practices, and information. Sorry Jamie, I tried, but I was bored, and aggrivated through many of the episodes. Maybe the region where I work is more progressive, but many of the things you talk about are out dated practices, or just incorrect. Your...Read full review »

Jamie meanders his way through the show and takes forever to get to the actual topic of the episode. Who cares about what he is doing with his family for the holidays. The show is supposed to be about the Glasgow Coma Scale. The show needs some serious emergency attention of its own.
