Way too many advertisements. It’s like every 5 minutes - doesn’t work for my ADHD brain. Too bad, it seems interesting though 🙃

Jon Walczak is a dogged investigative journalist. He looks at every angle and follows cases for years before publishing. I have heard all three seasons of his Missing series and the quality and perseverance is persistent throughout. I have so much respect for this body of work. I hope all of the...Read full review »

Who goes to find a plane in WATER without a SONAR!? … you took a vacation to Alaska… not a trip to look for a plane.. total BS… you had me till episode 10. Now you are doing entertainment journalism. And it’s a shame because where there’s smoke there’s fire. COMEON DUDE…. Shameful … I mean.....Read full review »

If you’re into gripping true crime stories with a touch of mystery, Missing in Alaska is a must-listen. The storytelling is top-notch, and you can tell a lot of care has gone into researching each case. Highly recommend checking it out!

Just the right amount of detail, this story moves but is still thorough. Compelling topic and a great podcaster.

Idk why people are rating it so low. Jon should win the Pulitzer Prize for this!!

A vaguely interesting premise but hosted by a man who keeps assuring you he doesn’t believe in conspiracy theories while spinning out a wild conspiracy theory supported by no hard evidence. Bizarre at times - for example when he spends 10 minutes interviewing a waitress who knows nothing about...Read full review »

30 minute runtime with at least 10 minutes of commercials. Ugh

Jon is an incredibly thorough and thoughtful journalist. Love this podcast and the adventure he takes us on!!

This could have and should have been three episodes. There is far too much repetitive blabber. I don’t know why this wasn’t heavily edited. Also, this is extremely close to sleaze journalism. It’s not a good sign when the writer repeatedly feels the need to defend his work.

Great look back of historical events shrouded in mystery with mafia association.

Eh
Started out good, but after 4 episodes he is just grabbing at straws and endlessly discussing things that don’t pertain to the story, clearly to sell more terrible casino adds because each episode is chock full of them. Should have stopped at 3 episodes. Had I not been lying in bed sick with a...Read full review »

Cringe at the lack of real information or interviews

This is one of the best true crime podcasts I have listened to. I even check monthly, or even weekly, to see if Jon Walczak has released any new shows.

This is a beautifully researched and produced podcast, and the host is capable enough vocally speaking, but why the aversion to editing? This story could be much tighter. There’s just too much undigested conversation and verite action. The unbelievably slow and repetitive conversation with the...Read full review »

Poor narrative, journalism that doesn’t feel objective and lacks connective tissue. I wanted to buy in to the theory but there was never even a semblance of enough supporting evidence. This podcast takes a testimony from decades ago and adds nothing to it despite trying very hard.

I really love crazy conspiracy mystery crime drama type stuff. This one is up there with the best.

Show just started to grab my attention and then 15 minutes into episode 5 the audio just crapped out. Tried to remove download and redownload multiple times to no avail. Anyone else have this issue?

Great podcast, love the narrator, love the audio interludes. But I fricking hate recommending it to anyone with the condom and pleasure ads every five seconds. Otherwise I would tell all true-crime-loving friends to listen.

I have a lot of respect for this journalist and the lengths he will go to investigating his “Missing in….” podcasts (the 9/11 one was thorough and haunting). I took off one star for all the times we are to endure 3 full minutes of advertiser content about whisper thin, textured magnum condoms,...Read full review »

I enjoyed this podcast.Good story. Unfortunately this story has more questions than answers. Agencies like the FBI won’t look into it again. They have once already and pretty much gave up.

Too wordy. Too much backstory. Get to the point and stop trying to have air space.

Good content for those who enjoy true-crime genre documentary-style podcasts. I greatly appreciate pods that go to the effort of interviewing (and otherwise using) primary sources and using those interviews in the pod. That said, each individual ad break on this pod is about a solid 2 minutes of...Read full review »

The narrator is an intent, mindful storyteller. Good story. I’m at episode 10 and it’s a waste. Almost nothing useful at all. It’s like a personal blog in some episodes rather than getting on point that the investigation is long, tedious and frequently filled with dead ends that aren’t worth...Read full review »

I think this may be my favorite podcast of all time. I’m having a second listen through now, but the storytelling is great. I had never heard of this possible conspiracy. Host takes us through all the facts to arrive at a possible conclusion. Loved the way you did a review every so often... it’s hard not to get lost in the names/places and facts vs. theory.

Loved listening to this couldn’t wait for the next episode to come out and now I can’t wait to find out if there is more to this story and if they can get to the bottom of it. Well done Jon great podcast.

In my opinion, BBC and CBC podcasts are superior to anything Americans produce. This is an exception! Gripping, well written, well presented and well produced podcast. Right up there with the best.
