Required Listening
Anyone who is in organizing or interested in direct action should listen to this! Fantastic first person story telling of a crucial moment in US politics that really defined how we look back at the anti-war movement and the tactics for radical organization building. Honestly left or right will love this story: left because it's untangling the left’s relationship with political violence and how to use privilege in politcs, right for the “they’re just as bad as us” argument fodder, to be horrified, and to steal organizing ideas. Whether you are pro/con the Weather Underground, their story helps you understand the history and the current moment so well. The heart of it is the family story, which so perfectly flips what you might except to be a college-style lecture into a compelling story of personality and relationships.Read full review »
