Poor format & poor judgement
I've never written a review but by episode 3, I'm furious. I don't know anything about this case except for this podcast stated in episode 1, which is that most people believe Chris Vaughn is guilty. So why didn't they either 1) drop all the episodes at once or 2) start with the case. I understand that background is important, but episodes 2 & 3 are not background. They are endless interviews with the Vaughn family that are neither particularly informative or seemingly reliable. I agree with the other reviewers that the family members themselves are unlikeable & it's hard to justify their endless dragging of their dead daughter-in-law & her family. The disclaimers that various statements aren't verified do not make this reporting any more responsible or less lazy - I get that Kim's family didn't want to talk, but I'm sure there are people other than Chris' family who could speak to their marriage if it's so important to spend multiple episodes discussing it. Also, the podcaster commenting on pictures of how Chris doesn't look like he could kill his family is so inappropriate. He or his wife did in fact kill their family, and I'm sure she didn't seem like she was capable of it either. But I'll never know what evidence there is to indicate Chris didn't do it, because after 3 hours, I can't wait any longer for the presentation of evidence to begin. True crime is a thin line, and I feel like I'm crossing it by listening to this.Read full review »

I have my fingers-crossed for an objective telling of what happened and an investigative “eye” into this case going forward, but Episode 2 is just horribly riddled with a biased perspective of the situation: A telling of the story strictly from the suspected (and, UNDENIABLY IMPORTANT...Read full review »

I understand the Phillips family did not respond to requests to participate, but to continue to allow the Vaughn family to speak badly about the Philips family without any bearing on the actual case and continually giving the impression that their son is perfect in every way is obviously skewed...Read full review »

A really disappointing and disconcerted one sided view and perspective - lacking balance and fair treatment to all parties.
