Informative but dry
I started listening to the Nature podcast in interest of learning about the cutting edge of science, since Nature is a premier scientific journal. I was listening to other scientific podcasts at the time, including the podcast for The Naked Scientists with Dr. Chris Smith. Dr. Smith is the same host for both. Nature's standard format is Dr. Smith interviewing the scientist spokesperson for the research being highlighted. If he had an engaging researcher, then it was an interesting interview. Unfortunately, he rarely had the good luck to interview such a researcher. The podcast format never changed. It became so the podcasts were piling up, and I was dreading to listen to them because they were so dull. I loved the timeliness of the information, but I just could not listen to the podcast. So, after several months of trying to listen, I had to unsubscribe. If you have a higher tolerance to droning interviews, you may well like this podcast and find it very interesting. The science is excellent, the format execution is poor.Read full review »
