Absolutely appalling reporting skim on facts and a lot of rhetoric - poor choice if you want to get actual news and not just poorly veiled propaganda

I cannot stand my news analysis being interrupted by ads from Ladbroke. Gambling advertising is evil and should be banned.

Hearing the business columnist, never has someone licked the boots of their corporate masters so much. Defending the price gouging when there’s only one grocery shop in town, they’d rather see us starve than have the poor CEO answer for the greed that’s devastating working people.

Very good political podcast, recommended daily listen.

Well presented and concise explanations of topics of importance, using interviews and research. Heavy on Australian and US topics.

Your episode on cannabis over prescribing hinged on a patient ‘Gary’ who claimed they were able to fill repeat prescriptions. As a schedule 8 drug, scripts are required to have an interval period between script refills. The period of time varies from Dr to Dr but is typically two weeks or...Read full review »

Samantha Selinger-Morris is an excellent interviewer. I particularly enjoy her discussions with Peter Hartcher - really informative and thought provoking.

Thank you for this longer form interview - I had read her quotes in the media but it was great to hear a more fulsome piece.

I refer to the episode on 9/11/2023. At 4:31, the host said “… did not heed to the warningk..” Yes, she said “warningk”, not “warning”. Please uphold a high standard of English.

Can no longer differentiate this podcast from North American podcasts e.g. Vox’s ‘today explained’. The 06/11/23 episode was particularly bad. Would be far more enjoyable, and relatable as the Nation’s news, if it was presented by Australians. Perhaps even better yet, give opportunities to or...Read full review »

Some good topics and engaging informative political analysis. Sometimes lightweight compared to what The Age has done previously. However, when I listen to a podcast I do not want to hear lisps or other speech impediments that distract from the topics at hand. Please get people who can speak...Read full review »

So much for the “clean” rating - had kids in the car and they dropped the F-bomb at least 3 or 4 times I had to turn it off. Clean up your act SMH (episode: 26/08/23 The Drop).

To give a stage to Samantha Crompvoets is rather disgraceful. The woman didn’t have an issue when drawing information out of soldiers under false pretences & no doubt she thought she would be a hero by disclosing information that had been given in confidence. The FACT is she does not have any...Read full review »

The secret to looking and feeling young is to not have kids. When I had my son at 36 the nurses said I looked like a teenager. Now I’m exhausted and look it.

Nick McKenzie interview was a terrific listen. It really got to the heart of Nick. I can only imagine how stressful it is to investigate and report on such important matters can be. The recent defamation case is such a high price to pay to hold a powerful person with powerful backers to account....Read full review »

Hypocrisy. I can’t believe that you allow gambling and racing to sponsor your podcast. I have unsubscribed. So disappointed. Once you find more suitable sponsorship I will consider coming back.

So on 21 March you reported on much needed gambling reforms, your reporter even suggested he was proud to have been associated with investigations into industry practices … and then today, your episode opens with an ad for Pointsbet?! Beyond disappointed.

It is hard to tell if it is the childish questions or the trite responses that are the most annoying thing about this podcast. For goodness sake, you are supposed to be representing the venerable knowledge and experience of the SMH and The Age. Lift your standards and get some serious thought...Read full review »

Absolutely loved the Inside Politics episode. In an age where listeners are inundated with different political commentary podcasts, I loved how this discussion went back to basics. Summarised the issue, its history & context in contemporary discussions, which then lead to a really rational,...Read full review »

Wholly accept all the left’s premises, then tries to frame a fair discussion, but using all the left’s framework and language. Left wing PR pretending to be balanced discussion; the worst kind of dishonesty.

I really enjoyed this podcast, have listened for a while. The latest ep on possible war with China is disgraceful. NFL preview ep. Predictable chat about the ads, the halftime show and the game itself. But the special interest angle was several minutes of rapture about Sydney boy and almost NRL player Jordan Mailata making the big stage. I wish to write in strong support of Mr Angus Thompson’s superlative work on the podcast segment, ‘Please Explain’. Bit of an odd decision to run LNP ads on a political podcast in the midst of an election campaign. Gotta keep Costello happy I suppose.

After second leaders debate you release a pod the following day - to discuss the debate and declare it a tie. After third leaders debate (the one Albanese clearly won) - there’s no pod, no discussion, no coverage! If you’re unbiased, that’s certainly not how it looks. C’mon folks.

Deborah, you have a very nice voice and you’re obviously a very experienced journalist. I say this with the greatest respect - but you really need to watch how many times you say ‘ya know’.
