A bit dull but okay.
Firstly I'd like to point out that this a good quality audiobook, well narrated and produced. I felt a little let down by the plot, or lack of. It started well, orphaned lad on a planet who had to leave quickly by taking a berth on a space cargo ship. I had premonitions this was to be something like Jack London's "The Sea Wolf", however I was to be somewhat let down. It's more about a few crew members buying and selling. There's very little sci/fi and certainly nothing about space voyages which is odd considering it is set mostly in space. We see only the good side of people, no accidents or mishaps, no bullying and a general lack of all round nastiness that makes yarns so much fun. Everybody behaves as if they were a girl guide or boy scout. Having said this, it won't put me off listening to "Half Share".Read full review »
