An Auspicious Start (bird flu pun intended).
A delicate balance between fun and factual, this show still needs tinkering. Yet, it's shakiests points, namely the light tone and attempts at humor are exactly what Sci-Am yearns to embrace to escape it stodgy reputation as a dense, scientists only journal.
