I have really enjoyed the first couple episodes of this podcast. Exploring the history of black food ways is needed and interesting. I specifically enjoyed the 3rd episode about the resurgence of black farming and to hear more about the farms and educational imitatives that are happening.

So few people even consider the origin stories of our food in this country. Lots of misconceptions flow through the community or honestly just no thoughts about it at all. This podcast combines two of my favorite topics Black History and food. This podcast feels like hot soup on a cold winter day. I welcome and appreciate the continued knowledge of African American cuisine and how it’s shaped what we know as American cuisine. Love the podcast. Can’t wait to hear more.

The first episode discusses how barbecue and Black food became to be a staple in American culture. The history behind that knowledge is fascinating; the anthropological history of a people and how they shaped the palette of this nation is definitely worth listening to.

Just finished the first episode and I can’t wait for more! Reminded me very much of what I loved about High on the Hog. So good, and presented in an easily digestible format (no pun intended).
