If your interested in this one woman complain fest, slide up a chair and get ready to have your cup full. She can do everything better / I’m just a critic -crap. Don’t waste your time. She kills the fun in all things Outlander. Oh! And guess what -she has a Buffy Poscast too! Only mentions it...Read full review »

This podcast is awesome! I am a huge Outlander fan. I appreciate how much thought goes in to the discussion of themes and story constructed. Also thank you for your descriptions of character’s facial expressions and key actions. Being myself visually impaired it adds to my love and appreciation...Read full review »

Lani does the best Outlander podcast out there. This is not just gushing but insightful analysis by an author and story expert. She’s good y’all!

I love Outlander. I've read all of the books. I love the shows. Lani does too. But she doesn't let that get in the way of strong critical analysis. If Outlander has ever left you feeling frustrated, this show tells you why. At the same time, Lani celebrates the amazing accomplishment of this...Read full review »

I'm not a die hard fan of Outlander books or TV show but enjoy the crazy enough to have fun watching it! Lani is intelligent and fun to listen to. She's smart, sassy, and (in)sightful! I'm not a fan of her trying to recreate what she would have done but appreciate the thought behind...Read full review »

I really enjoy listening to Lani dissect the story themes. She is always so easy to listen to and so refreshing to hear. :)

I have listened to every podcast that Lani did for Outlander in Season 3, in which for the most part she would pretty much trash each episode. I think she really only liked one episode. I really enjoyed her on the podcast with her ex-husband, and always felt her take was fair and balanced. ...Read full review »

Wish I’d found this podcast previously. It’s wonderful- honest, insightful and fun.

Lani’s review of “Uncharted” was more diatribe than critique. It wasn’t so much the content of her assessment that offended the sensibilities (I actually agree with most of her criticism) but the tone...she sounded angry and bitter. As a matter of fact , her revision/adaptation of “Uncharted” was...Read full review »

This podcast started strong but lately it feels like a platform for angry fan fiction.

every episode so far is complaining about every episode and how hard it is to write for this story, had hopes for an entertaining podcast for a great show - this isn't it, giving up!

This podcaster claims to be a fan?? I would hate to see a review if she truly hated Outlander. She brings up some interesting food for thought so I’ve stuck with it up til now but this week’s recap was more than I could take. Throw in the swearing and...well I’m done. Definitely not subscribing.

Lani is so smart and so funny. She's not just giving a recap; she speaks from perspective of narrative theory, her field of study and practice, so she offers solid argument for what works and what doesn't work, and why, in terms of story structure; I find that really helpful. She's...Read full review »

I like Lani’s other podcasts, but I’ve had to unsubscribe from this one because she complains a lot about Outlander as a book and TV show. It’s a real downer after I’ve enjoyed the story in both mediums. 🙁

My absolute favourite Outlander podcast - Lani's analysis is always rich and nuanced. This podcast helps me to view the episodes in new and interesting ways, and really interrogates the content with an eye on story and the intricacies of character. Added bonus? Lani is a goddamn delight!

A welcome addition to the Outlander universe, bringing a discerning eye to a beloved series. Lani manages to go beyond the surface of the story. She opens my eyes to a deeper level of narrative.

I totally agreed with everything...Informed, critical and smart. It’s ok for Outlander fans to not think every decision that TV writers made were right because they weren’t. This episode was nearly a waste of time except for the last 10 minutes. Batman indeed.

I loved the Scot & The Sassenach. Lani is now so bitter. I wanted to like her. I had to stop the 1st episode. Tried again with later episodes, thinking she would settle down. No. Too much negativity, and cursing does not make one sound cool, if that's what she is trying to do.Read full review »

Lani, I just love your point of view on, at this point, everything. I just can’t thank you enough for being so insightful and not being afraid to express how you really feel. Lani gives her opinion and doesn’t sugar-coat it. She’s a book fan and story guru and her viewpoint can be refreshing in the world of beat it to death podcasts. If you’re sensitive to swearing, this podcast may not be for you.

I love Lani's Outlander commentary. As a fan of her previous work I followed her over with great anticipation and have been rewarded with a fantastic podcast. She leaves me wanting more but that's hardly a complaint.Read full review »

As much as I loved TSatS, S&W is even better. No one's analysis is keener, no one's commentary is snappier (I ❤️ tipsy Lani), and, as a 12:01-Sunday-morning watcher, I particularly appreciate how quickly she gets her reviews out. My only wish is that she would offer another (longer?)...Read full review »

I was a big fan of Lani Diane, and now her ex-husband Alister, when they did The Scot & The Sassenach for seasons 1&2 of Outlander. But - I'm sorry - I am DONE with her for the next couple of years. The number one rule in critique is to start with something positive, and then move on to the criticism (which should be constructive rather than bashing). The first five minutes of the first episode was entirely bashing a character, and, by extension, the writers. It was not at all enjoyable to...Read full review »

I enjoyed TSATS, didn't always agree with them but liked their viewpoints. I had high hopes for this podcast but couldn't finish the review of episode 301. Too much Frank-hating and way too many f-bombs. I wish Lani the best but I just can't subscribe to this.Read full review »
