COOL ZONE. That’s waaaay too many ads for this podcast. It is a great show. Too many ads. Don’t do this to Jamie.

Love this podcast and Jaime’s storytelling. The only thing is the amount of ads! 2-3 minutes of ads 4 times during the podcast is outrageous. I’d prefer to just give you money is a Patreon than have to sit through the obscene amount of ads.

I love this show - it’s fascinating, intelligent and funny. I have recommended it to many people. The only downside is that there are SO MANY ads - it’s got to be at least 25% of the total podcast time and the 4-5 minute breaks really take you out of the story.

Love this podcast, always a great listen! Jamie Loftus’ audiobook of Raw Dog got me through a tough time, too, thanks Jamie!

Jamie is a clever storyteller and a master of audio effects. This podcast feels like I’m talking to a cooler older cousin with good fashion taste and hot takes on esoteric internet trends.

Funny, informative, distinctive; I binged most of this podcast on a long and hellish bus journey, and now eagerly look forward to new episodes. I love it!

You really ought to listen to this podcast! I love it.

Each episode is a hit or miss. Some are interesting and fun while others are boring. The host also tries really hard to be funny but falls flat 99% of the time. She’s also really biased and doesn’t do well on reporting certain topics.
Seniarittta via Apple Podcasts · United States of America · 10/29/24
I love Jamie’s story telling style and I find I am captivated by her style of wandering. It sets things up perfectly and I am so engaged. I love the range of topics - I am surprised by which ones I remember and the ones I don’t know are still fascinating.

One of the most thoughtful and interesting podcasts out there. Jamie never fails!

Jamie is quite possibly one of the best podcast reporters with epic long-form takes on Mensa, Lolita and more but this weekly podcast on internet characters of the week fully delves into historical and cultural contexts of social media while also being hilarious, insightful and frankly very fair...Read full review »

Loftus (using only the last name is how you know how serious this is) is appointment listening. There’s no one better at getting into the weeds of complicated situations and bringing you along in a way that makes you think “i probably shouldn’t be here but i don’t regret being here.” And once...Read full review »

As someone who is not super online but wants to be in the know, this podcast is truly perfect. It’s so funny and so smart and I want to listen to it at all times.

I love the way it invites digestible critical thinking. I love the way it relates to sociological and popular culture concepts. I also love that it hints at aspects of nostalgia without feeling overplayed. Well done!

The show is well-researched and fun but the host seems to think she’s being clever by (more than) occasionally blasting an air horn effect as if it’s a laugh track. It was rather funny once. Since then it has become incredibly annoying, especially as it’s happening almost constantly now, and...Read full review »

I appreciate the buildup in the introduction before the show title drops. It really does build an atmosphere to encompass the topic and the lived lives of the people in that space and time. The podcast is really insightful and interestingly examines our collective memes of the past. Plus, the...Read full review »

So many of these stories are still memorable, but Jamie’s investigative skills, silliness, and thoughtfulness breathe new life into some of the most fun days on the internet. Def worth subscribing.

At this point I take it as a given that if Jamie Loftus does a podcast (or anything really), it’s going to be really good *and* very fun to listen to. And sure enough, she delivers hard on both counts with sixteenth minute.
DanielTana via Apple Podcasts · United States of America · 09/24/24
In addition to being one of the great thinkers and communicators of our time, Jamie somehow also knows the exact correct amount of airhorn to use at any given moment.

I love Jamie’s work, it’s always well-researched and thoughtful, and this podcast is no exception. My only (very minor) quibble is that it can sometimes take too long to get to the point/meat of the topic in an episode. There’s almost too much information at times. Like I’m not sure we need a...Read full review »

I waited like a weird little creep for this show to go on for a few months so I could once again binge Loftus content. Once again, she delivers! I’ve loved every podcast series Jamie has created, and this one is incredible. She has balanced each topic with snark, empathy, and cultural context perfectly.

The show is well-researched and fun but the host seems to think she’s being clever by occasionally blasting an air horn effect as if it’s a laugh track. It was rather funny once. Since then it has become incredibly annoying and detracts from the intelligence of the show she’s trying to deliver.

Since I first discovered the Bechdel Cast, I knew Jamie Loftus was a genius. Is Jamie Loftus a genius of our time? Could be! I’ve always enjoyed her podcasts but this one… she is truly hitting her stride. Never lol’ed so much.
