Great host, great guests.
There aren’t many movie-podcast hosts who can go from geeking out about Buckaroo Banzai one week to detailing anxious border crossings with the Criterion laserdisc of Salo in their bag the next, and make both episodes engaging and insightful in the process. The fact that almost every episode is recorded in Wilner's home and features jangly, snoring appearances by Toronto’s best-known movie-biz-adjacent dog just reinforces what a personable and approachable guy he is, while also knowing his stuff inside-out and landing guests from all over the industry. This is my favourite podcast to listen to on my runs. Norm is a great host and leads lively and insightful conversations about a range of films. Makes me want to rewatch my favourites and see some films that I missed. Highly recommended!
