Once upon a time there was a podcast which gave three discussions reflecting the breadth of articles in each edition of the Spectator. High quality discussions with serious participants, well worth listening to even when one disagreed. Sadly, high quality wasn’t good enough and so those...Read full review »

I preferred the previous format for the show, not a fan of the “inside baseball” approach to the production of the magazine. Still, I very much appreciate the magazine, writers and content.

The best publication in Britain. If this is sold off to the emirates - as someone who is brisitsh but grew up in Dubai for 6 years - it would be the death bell in free speech for this publication and I would never read it again. This is common sense. Long live the King.

I do enjoy hearing Conservatives/tory leaning people, moaning about how bad the country is after 13 years of them.

How a publication as smart and savvy as the Spectator would allow reporting and discussion on Trump’s 2024 prospects without mentioning his attempt to literally overturn a widely credible election result in 2020 is astounding. Bidet’s obvious faults aside, many in the GOP suffer from Trump...Read full review »

Can we move on from Covid lockdown and Boris hobby horse politics. A decade + of QE is the true Tory shame.

Interesting conversation about water shortages, but the presenter seemed half asleep and not really engaged in the conversation-simply read out some questions.

A bunch of self entitled, private school educated aristocrats drivelling on about Aston Martens and how well they know Boris Johnson’s wife. All the while class shaming each other and using phases like “beneath their station” etc. Just another reason to be ashamed to be British right now.

Just listened to this ( on hols in France) and agree wholeheartedly - as I usually do - with Lionel Shriver about companies trying to signal their woke credentials. As Lionel says, people are not stupid. They see it for what it is. I was delighted to hear ‘Dear Mary’ is a real person ! Really...Read full review »

I cannot believe my ears; 30,000 examples on the MHRA of women experiencing menstrual problems, yet the situation is dismissed by the health professionals on the podcast! Where’s the Hippocratic Oath? What about the responsibility of giving appropriate advice to pregnant ladies? I found this to...Read full review »

I like that I don’t need to read the magazine to be able to engage with the topics. I wish more time was given to the first topic on the podcast which is normally the leading article in the magazine. I could read the magazine but when your driving a lot, it’s rather diffcult. Main criticism...Read full review »

If you like healthy intelligent debate but hate foul language and blasphemy from guest contributors, give it a miss. There are other similar themed podcasts to choose from without having to listen to that. Disappointed as I have listened to some good past episodes but I will unsubscribe now.

Cindy Yu is a thoroughbred in The Spectator’s (impressive) stable of hosts/interviewers: she’s knowledgeable about the subjects she covers; she gives her interviewees space to talk and she brings no ego to the table. Her Chinese Whispers podcast is particularly good.

Excellent analysis by Alex M and James F on Douglas Ross appt and wider implications. Thank you

The first part of this podcast was an appalling indulgence of a self-pitying police representative who was unable to comprehend that the police, as public servants, should be professional to all members of society. Nor could he recognise the inherent privilege that police have: they have far more...Read full review »

Find a better US analyst. I won’t listen to that Kate lady anymore. Everything else is fine.

This podcast always has good discussions and interesting guests, although the last segment is normally not worth listening to. The real improvement in recent months has been the moving on of Lara Prendergast, whose voice was unbearably posh and self-satisfied. Now they have a girl called Cindy...Read full review »

I started listening to this because I wanted to understand perspectives coming from further to the right than most of what I consume. It's normally a pretty good listen and quite informative. Sometimes I hear guests and am totally incredulous that people like that actually exist especially...Read full review »

This is the best informed and most interesting political podcast out there. Ego free analysis which I parrot to sound clever at work

Really good podcast, presenting a few key areas of interest from this week’s edition of the Spectator magazine. Politics first, and then two other areas later. Really good quality and enjoyable podcast, I read the magazine but also enjoy listening to the articles’ authors talk. Great stuff, well...Read full review »

Usually enjoy this podcast because they do air out all the views on Brexit and other topics which also include ones slightly out of the mainstream. However I did need a medium to communicate the absolute state of the recent podcast which amounted to three awfully gentle-women discrediting angry...Read full review »

I listen every day for pertinent discussion and clear analysis of UK politics. I no longer watch or listen to the BBC or Sky: they’re are biased, fatuous and dumbed-down in comparison. Go Coffeehouse Shots!

As a Canadian this is my go to for U.K. politics and pop culture. Great guests and discussions. I especially like it when James Delingpole is on.

I don’t want to hear Peter Lilley opining about anything, least of all climate change which he still refers to as “hysteria” in spite of all science to the contrary. Spectator you are normally much better than this. I’m assuming you wouldn’t give airtime to a creationist, so why give a political...Read full review »
