Appalling indulgence of self pitying police representative
The first part of this podcast was an appalling indulgence of a self-pitying police representative who was unable to comprehend that the police, as public servants, should be professional to all members of society. Nor could he recognise the inherent privilege that police have: they have far more privilege than people of colour and should recognise and mitigate this privilege. Hiding behind a ridiculous faux-academic theory to justify institutional racism is pathetic and should not be indulged by The Spectator. Shame.

I preferred the previous format for the show, not a fan of the “inside baseball” approach to the production of the magazine. Still, I very much appreciate the magazine, writers and content.
