It was double trouble for the Supercars Championship Series, with Will Brown his first Supercars title while spearheading a Red Bull Ampol Racing one-two that left the squad dominating the Teams' Championship.
And because it was the Adelaide 500, there was heaps happening. Turn 8 was tearing up cars again, and we think there is a simple fix or two to keep it challenging but to reduce the danger that left two drivers not well enough to race.
Zach Bates locked down the Dunlop Super2 Series...

This week’s Auto Action RevLimiter is all about looking forward. We are looking forward to the final round of the Supercars this weekend. We’re looking forward to the McLaren letting Oscar Piastri off the leash.
We’re looking forward to return of Targa Tasmania… and really, we’re looking forward to more motorsport.
But we also have to look backwards at the crowning of the three-time NASCAR Champ, a new Xfinity Series winner, the fastest drag strip in Australia and the new that Tickford is...

Max Verstappen likely sealed his fourth F1 World Championship with a storming drive from 17th on the grid to win a wet Brazilian Grand Prix. Lando Norris still has a mathematical chance, but that is it. Alpine also set up a $50m payday with dual podiums, elevating it a few spots on the constructors' battle.
MotoGP has also experienced some weather events, with the deadly floods around Valencia forcing the final rounds of the series to find a new home. Jorge Martin is looking at his first...

All the major motorsports championships around the world are closing in on their finals rounds, and all are trimming the contenders. Supercars and MotoGP are down to two, F1 is also maybe two but that is a stretch, and NASCAR still has eight… but only for one more week.
So how did it all happen?
We debrief Supercars on the Gold Coast and wins to Cam Waters and Brodie Kostecki, but a shocker to Chaz Mostert has left that title fight down to only Triple Eight teammates Will Brown and Broc...

It is episode 42 for this year, which means we need to
explore a little of life, the universe and everything. But we’ll start with the Ferrari one-two in Austin, Texas, and talk a little bit about the b******t penalty handed out to Lando Norris for being forced off the track by an out-of-control Max Verstappen – we tend to think he’s not out of talent; however, his race craft is pretty poor for a three-time world champion. Although he can winge better
than most Poms.
We chat briefly about...

Brodie Kostecki and Todd Hazelwood dominated the 2024 Bathurst 1000 in the #1 Chiko Camaro. Kostecki was back to his brilliant best, and Hazelwood was the best of the co-drivers.
Red Bull Ampol Racing filled the minor spots on the podium in the fastest ever Bathurst 1000, with only one Safety Car at a convenient, for some, 29 laps from home - or one full tank of fuel.
Plenty of other stuff went down too.
We have a little bit of other news in #NASCAR and #Sprintcars and the change to our...

This week on the Auto Action RevLimiter we reflect on the career of Daniel Ricciardo, who deserved a lot more respect than Red Bull showed him. We also look at Renault shutting down its engine program and what that may mean for the Alpine team. And what about the anti-trust? Does this all open the door for Andretti?
What is happening with the Ford engines for Bathurst? When did we all go there for the first time, and what has changed since then, aside from many more potholes on the road?...

Lando Norris has asked for the Jaws music after dominating the Singapore Grand Prix and closing the gap to Max Verstappen to only a fraction more than two race wins. The title hunt is alive, and with Oscar Piastri ready to take points off the reigning champ, it may only be a matter of races before Norris snatches the lead in the drivers' title, just as McLaren did to the constructors' championship last week… which is just as well, because there are only six races left now.
We look at the...

It is a news story more than 20 years in the making, but the largest vehicle manufacturer in the world, as opposed to the manufacturer of the largest vehicles in the world, has signed up to go Supercars racing. Toyota joins Australia’s largest motor racing series in 2026 with Walkinshaw Andretti United and one other yet-to-be-identified team for at least five seasons.
But what does it really mean? Auto Action’s Bruce Williams was at the launch, and he dissected the meaning of life with...

Charles Leclerc stole the Italian Grand Prix from Oscar Piastri with a bold single-stop strategy, leaving the Tifosi in tears of joy, while Oscar showed a grumpy face of frustration. With Max Verstappen struggling, this world championship is well and truly alive.
To understand it all, we brought our very own rookie – Reese Mautone - in for FP1, and she runs rings around Bruce and Andrew without hitting the wall.
Andrew and Bruce talk about all the Supercars news, because Reese doesn't...

In this edition of The Auto Action RevLimiter, we dig into Anton De Pasquale’s signing with Team 18, as revealed on the Auto Action website on Tuesday.
In the game of falling dominoes, Anton’s move was triggered by the (rumoured) signing of Brodie Kostecki to his seat at Dick Johnson Racing. The last domino to fall belonged to Mark Winterbottom, and we’re not sure where we will see the former champ next year… although we doubt it will be Team 18.

They say it was worn tyres, but wherever that 1.5kg went, it took George Russell's 2nd win this season and handed it to his teammate Lewis Hamilton, who was on a more conservative strategy.
Oscar Piastri was second... but how does his season rate? We debrief every driver and every team and wonder why Carlos Sainz is going to Williams - what does he know? - and why Red Bull is sticking with Sergio Perez as the hapless Mexican hands ascendancy to McLaren.

In the latest edition of The Auto Action Rev Limiter Podcast, we dig deep into ‘our’ Oscar Piastri’s first F1 Grand Prix Win… and we say ‘our’ because he has been an Auto Action Columnist before the other motorsport media in Australia even knew his name.
He is the 115th winner of a Grand Prix and the 5th Australian to do so. The side play was the petulance of Lando Norris and the dummy spitting tantrum of Max Verstappen, who didn’t like working for a living.
