Ignorance is bliss
The comments blaming Chernobyl on "socialism" or "liberalism" are profoundly and deliberately stupid, considering America had its own partial meltdown at Three Mile Island seven years earlier. Chernobyl was worse because the Soviets were steeped in the nationalism and misinformation that is, in fact, rearing its head again in America and around the world. The podcast does a great job of providing supplemental stories to the HBO show. It shows how much thought went into the creation of each episode. Cannot wait for future episodes.
