The start of so many discussions on this! I've been experimenting with nutrition. Keto for 3 months which was great, if I didn't do much. Then mixing it up a bit with, well, mixed results. I've found some very interesting tribal behaviours around the subject, and loads of confirmation bias and dissonance. People can get so touchy!! http://leadwithsteve.comhttps://twitter.com/faulknerstevehttps://instagram.com/stevefaulknerhttps://facebook.com/stevefaulknertraining

After reading about Stress Overload, it all made sense. I can be hard to work out why we may feel stressed when nothing obviously stressful is happening. Being a parent, manager, director, colleague, administrator...etc can take its toll. Sometimes we just need to acknowledge that we're doing well and that there's no shame in admitting that things can be tough for all of us sometimes.  Speaker, trainer and...

A huge subject, but this little moment helped it all make sense for me. We need to get into the habit of looking into the bus. Look deeper at what may be going on for others, and you'll tend to become less stressed, and ultimately happier. If you let go of anger, you'll find that your acceptance will improve your life and the lives of those around you. It's simple, but not easy. So there's no better time to start the...

A little bit of a reset is sometimes required when it comes to our daily talks and deadlines. I'm a shocker for putting myself under pressure, which can be a dangerous place to be. Sometimes it's a case of letting go and accepting that you can't do everything...and breathe... http://leadwithsteve.comhttps://twitter.com/faulknerstevehttps://instagram.com/stevefaulknerhttps://facebook.com/stevefaulknertraining

My last day with these brilliant people in Tromsø. I feel very lucky to be given an insight into how teams pull together and create something truly inspiring. I learn so much from these experiences, and as a trainer, it's so important to remember that the learning goes both ways.  http://leadwithsteve.comhttps://twitter.com/faulknerstevehttps://instagram.com/stevefaulknerhttps://facebook.com/stevefaulknertraining

All is good in Norway. Even though some rather naughty people had a little snuffle around my house.   http://leadwithsteve.comhttps://twitter.com/faulknerstevehttps://instagram.com/stevefaulknerhttps://facebook.com/stevefaulknertraining

Last night was probably the most difficult challenge. The food was so good, and so was the wine. I could smell it!! But did I cave in?? It's so easy to just treat yourself, especially when away. And it's not about beating yourself up, whatever happens. It's all about the learning! For me anyway.  Going to Tromsø. Well, I'm off to do a couple of days training and fun stuff in Tromsø. It's been a rather unexpected process. Here I speak about the unusual journey from Street Performer to Magician to Leadership Trainer. Goal-setting is great, but you have to leave room for flexibility. Or the really good stuff may never happen. Going to Tromsø. Go here https://bardus.no/ and say hi from...

This is another huge part of leadership and personal growth. Many mistakenly confuse this with a lack of grit, but it is. in fact, the complete opposite. Your vulnerability will allow you to work on what needs to be strengthened. Oh, and it takes way more courage and grit to do this than it does to avoid the discomfort. http://leadwithsteve.comhttps://twitter.com/faulknerstevehttps://instagram.com/stevefaulknerhttps://facebook.com/stevefaulknertraining

It's Monday, it's been one of 'those' mornings and I've started the day in a right pissy mood. But through gritted teeth, there's always some learning to be had. In this episodeOther than just spewing out words from my brain on a daily basis, I also provide more structured training.  http://leadwithsteve.comhttps://twitter.com/faulknerstevehttps://instagram.com/stevefaulknerhttps://facebook.com/stevefaulknertraining

So with all this talk of personal development. What is it that we actually want to develop? This is not about being 'good' in a kind of self-righteous, boring way. It's about being the person we want to be when it matters. For me, integrity is a huge part of that.  http://leadwithsteve.comhttps://twitter.com/faulknerstevehttps://instagram.com/stevefaulknerhttps://facebook.com/stevefaulknertraining

Seems like a hassle but it never is, and I've seen it consistently change lives. We often do this so fleetingly, but we need to put time aside for this powerful, but simple process. To develop ourselves, we first have to understand what it is we want, or need, to change. Treat this as a priority and you will begin to see the magic happen. Get a journal or talk to a friend, colleague or coach (hello!). Do whatever works for you, but make sure you do it. I'll get off my preachy high horse now....

Part three of my experience of how to reduce or quit alcohol. For some, the cost doesn't matter. But even if you're flush, it can be quite interesting looking at how much we spend drinking, and how much we save if we quit. As always, any comments and shares would be very much appreciated.  http://leadwithsteve.comTwitter @faulknersteveInstagram @stevefaulknerFacebook  https://www.facebook.com/stevefaulknertraining

I'll mention this a lot, but this classic deserves to be spoken about. Many books that come out now are just rewrites. This is not a review of the Seven Habits of Highly Effective People, but a bit of a ramble. There will be more.  In this episodeSpeaker, trainer and coach http://leadwithsteve.com,https://twitter.com/faulknersteve,https://instagram.com/stevefaulkner,https://facebook.com/stevefaulknertraining.

Something weird happened in an overwrite kind of way. So here's the real second part on the alcohol stuff. As the previous upload seems to have been replaced with a clone of episode 3. Last night it all built up a little, and I found myself in a state of overwhelm. This happens when things build-up, and it's a normal part of life. However, it's important to have processes in place to deal with these things, and the first step is to acknowledge them without shame. It's OK not to feel OK. I hope you find this helpfulSpeaker, trainer and...

After running my Deliver Better Presentations course today, I present an unstructured stream of consciousness on our societal fear of public speaking. So basically, demonstrating the maxim 'do as I say, not as I do'. It's all about the process and the ability to accept our flaws and humanity. That isn't to say we shouldn't focus on content. This is essential. When we have the content and have re-written our story, we can then go onto presenting with confidence. Speaker, trainer and...

In this episode, I explore the second big one for me. Productivity. This isn't just about work and keeping busy. it goes a lot deeper than that. It's about doing the things that make you happy; the activities that give you a feeling of purpose. I will be talking a lot more about this in future episodes. It's a game-changer for me.   Speaker, trainer and...

Further to a request, this is the first part of a series of episodes on my experience of eliminating alcohol from my life. From the age of 13, it's been a huge part of my social life. Well, let's be honest, it's been the main part of my social life. The thought of socialising without this drug has always felt completely alien to me. My aim is to be as honest as possible, without preaching and without judgment. I'll stick to what I've observed and experienced, and definitely don't suggest this...

Well, here we go. In my first, introductory episode, I briefly explain what's going to happen with this podcast. What it is and of course what it isn't. So this is really a brief paddle of the toes into what it is we're trying to develop, and why we would even bother.Speaker, trainer and coach http://leadwithsteve.com https://twitter.com/faulknersteve https://instagram.com/stevefaulkner https://facebook.com/stevefaulknertraining
