“First of all I'm glad that Empire have decided to go into the podcasting business and believe it's a really great idea. Yet, this is no good. I subscribe to Empire but don't think this podcast really lives up to the magazine. The presenters are a tad on the smug side and don't come across that well. Editorially the show could be better organised. The interviews so far have not been up to standard - only because you have big/interesting names, if there not engaging or stimulating cut the interview short. The reviews section is way too short and the news discussion tends to be repetitive and rambling. On the other side I can see that they obviously are film buffs and passionate about what they do, just a little more restraint would be enjoyed.
Download KCRW's "The Business" if your interested in a news round-up, the economics of cinema and making of movies, or "Movie Date" if you prefer discussion about the movies themselves. This podcast looks self-indulgent and poor in comparison to them.”Read full review »

Have given this podcast a go for the first 5 episodes but have given up - smug, self-satisfied, inane...”Read full review »
