The story of taking down Luciano isn’t unknown of course (and frankly mob history usually doesn’t interest me), but additional context like The Godmother’s indispensable role along with the supporting characters of this story like the sex workers that assisted the prosecution made it so much more...Read full review »

This is a great podcast! I had never heard of Mrs. Carter prior to this podcast and I’m glad I stumbled upon it. I hope to hear more little known Black stories from this podcaster in the near future. Great work to the host and team!

Knew a few names from this time and place, like Luciano and Dewey, but so many others were completely new to me - including Eunice Carter herself. What I like best, though, is how this podcast isn’t just names and dates, there’s a fullness to the telling, a reminder that people, real people, make...Read full review »

Please have more seasons. We need people telling these types of stories. Especially from the late 20th century.

Decent podcast - DEFO worth a listen. But the premise of black history being erased now (more than ever) is unfounded, unsupported and flat out wrong. Thankfully we are learning more and more about black history every single day.

I wonder if our podcaster bothered to read any history of the US growing up? What party was instrumental in getting the right to vote and achieve citizenship for blacks after the Civil War? If it wasn’t for this same party, LBJ couldn’t have passed ANY civil rights legislation in the 60s. That...Read full review »

Great Documentary about an impactful black woman who’s name was swept under a rug. I thoroughly enjoy the information, music, and commentary.

This is such a beautifully made show. I unfortunately have never heard of Eunice and her amazing work. But after only 2 episodes I feel I know her better. Can’t wait to listen to more.

iHeartRadio really needs to change their ad policy. In every episode there are at least four commercial breaks that just start without a jingle and that last two minutes. All of them are for other podcasts including the one we are already listen to which makes no sense. It can‘t even be forgiven...Read full review »

This is a fascinating story, and one that deserves to be told. It is a well produced podcast and makes for engaging listening. However, it gets only a two from me because I think there’s too much, way, too much, unfounded racial insinuation in the intro and marketing for this podcast. Her ...Read full review »

It’s clear that the absence of stories like this in education, news, etc. is intentional. So glad you are intentional too…about the business of telling these incredible stories. Please don’t tire, you have an audience🤗.

Nicole claims that we live in a time that black history is being erased. She’s clearly delusional. Don’t listen hoping to get any real history, just more of her delusions.

Thank you for restoring this remarkable woman to her rightful place in American legal history. Beautifully written and produced. And yes, it will bother anyone who thinks we don’t need to talk about race and cultural erasure. Three cheers to bothering small-minded and selfish bigots!...Read full review »

While Florida is trying to rewrite black history, Texas is rejecting textbooks that talk too much about slavery but not enough about “benevolent” slave masters, and a certain grand old political party is determined to roll back civil rights - this podcast represents a time of real heroes. Such an...Read full review »

If you listen to Nicole’s story, this is a time when black history is being erased. Yes I’m serious. No she’s not being cheeky. I’m astounded that anyone could claim this without even a shred of evidence but here we are. As if the prosecutor who took down a mob boss is somehow forgotten to time...Read full review »
