I really enjoy these BBC podcasts. This was a harrowing story, it was very difficult to listen to but I am glad to have done so. Well done for presenting this horrific case in such a sensitive but forthright manner.

An incredible resource for people looking to understand the detail of why things went so wrong - government obsession with deregulation, industry malfeasance and a lack of care for people.

as someone working in the construction industry I have learned so much from this. It is so valuable that all the insights are preserved and disseminated. And the podcast is fantastically researched and edited. Thank you very much

Absolutely brilliant podcast. Provided such a rich and multi-dimensional analysis of this awful tragedy. From building design and larger refurb project procurement, to the inner workings of the fire brigade at large incidents, building regs, fire safety, and failure of governmental process....Read full review »

It’s shameful - the system isn’t broken, it was never there in the first place……

What a valuable support to the community & survivors. Being able to listen to this so many years later is a privilege. One that is filled with awe, horror, compassion & outrage. Thank you for investing so the full inquiry is preserved. Sending strength to all who suffered. Grenfell Tower 💔

Setting the bar extremely high for modern journalism

I listened to every single episode of this podcast. First Eddie, then Kate, have told the story of not only the enquiry but also the bereaved and survivors, and their wider community. Grenfell was preventable and it’s stunning and infuriating to me that, years on, there’s still hardly any action.

Wish I had heard about this podcast earlier. So informative and illuminating providing excellent weekly summaries of the Inquiry with great use of the evidence.

Outstanding podcast.

Quite simply the most essential podcast ever made - provides a concise and easily to understand update from the enquiry every week over a sustained period of time - the outputs are revealing and infuriating - do much better than lifestyle piffle

Shocking how many of the individuals just want to blame each other or other companies, passing the buck the whole time. I’m saddened to see how long this enquiry is taking. As for housing ministers. How many has there been since this fire? I’m not at all sure the government have taken this...Read full review »

Must listen report on the Inquiry, reveals the never ending weaknesses and incompetence in public and private organisations. As ever the truth is more searing than any fiction

The evidence speaks for itself so a 5 Star podcast that might not attract the attention of awards. No doubt the justice system will systematically fail to bring those to account and I daresay the verdict will not come out until those responsible have died or retired and claims are timed out but...Read full review »

A useful collection of snippets to stay up to speed with the evidence but the presenter sometimes adds their own incorrect interpretation and false claims by counsel go unchallenged.

I’m so glad this podcast went ahead. I would never have been able to follow the proceedings and hear about them in the detail that I have without this being presented in podcast form, and without the explanations and clarifications from the journalists. We could only know more by actually...Read full review »

This is public service journalism at its absolute finest. Kate and the team of researchers (and previously Eddie) do a superb job in conscientiously exposing extremely difficult subjects for the layman to understand. As someone who attended the incident on the night and the subsequent inquiry,...Read full review »

I was worried that things would go down hill when Eddy left - so glad I was wrong! Interesting, emotional and insightful. I can’t always listen as the information can be heavy; but I am glad that you offer analysis on the topic, so we can better understand the complex narrative that contributed...Read full review »

This continues to be a wonderful example of public service journalism. Taking the time to make quite difficult arguments accessible.

Great focus and clear reporting. Taking responsibility for anything seems rare. Usually I find the culture of public service is total avoidance of risk and personal responsibility. In the private sector it is similar except it seems in construction. Instead it’s a case of ‘what can I get way...Read full review »

My praise for the clarity of this podcast is unbounded. The presenters and back-roomers have been meticulous in shining a spotlight on the corruption that exists amongst many companies in the building industry. It is clear the too many directors and employees were both callous and unethical at...Read full review »

Thank you Kate Lamble and your hard working colleagues, this is the BBC podcasting at it’s absolute best. Clear, concise enthralling and utterly informative, it really is brilliant reporting. The evidently cavalier attitude displayed towards safety, as exposed in this enquiry, is breathtaking....Read full review »

This should be compulsory listening for all. Informative and interesting whilst communicating an incredibly complex subject. One always has to be concerned about any broadcast based on edits but it is clear that concern is completely understood by the producers and presenters. Superb...Read full review »

This is an outstanding podcast series. I only found these when the inquiry started with the architects and the insight being given by the inquiry is truly shocking. The podcasts themselves are brilliantly edited, and the extra insight from the additional experts interviewed is very helpful.

my only criticism is I personally don’t feel the current weekly episodes include the level of content as the previous daily episodes. Rather than the weekly summarisation I feel it would be interesting to hear more content of that days proceedings again.

Thank you for ensuring the reasons behind the fire are all told. I wish it was more regular, like phase 1’s coverage. The deceased need justice and the BBC are the only mainstream news organisation regularly. WELL DONE

I’m an architect in London and I’ve been listening to this podcast for a few weeks (I’m now at episode 80). Listening to this should be a mandatory CPD (training) for architects. I understand that the podcast is moving to a weekly rather than daily slot... will the podcast be therefore lengthened? Given the detailed, technical, nature of the testimonies I think 30 minutes (the usual BBC podcast length) is too short.

I FEAR ... This is the last piece of work left at The BBC. That isn’t made left or gender or bi or transgender or black or woman..,, It’s cynical to think BBC hasn’t focussed on one minority group - bet it was discussed. No wonder EM left RIP BBC
