False Equivalency on 11🙄
The lengths the hosts of this podcast go to create unnecessary and contextual-less content to simply have a debate and reduce topics in modern America which are clearly morally and logically one sided are enough to cause my eye balls to roll back so hard I sprained my brain. I’ve been listening for the past few months since MeidasTouch podcast recommended so highly (this was a terrible decision). It’s almost as if this podcast is responding to issues from a 2010 perspective as they leave out all the inherent misogyny, patriarchy, and yes racism (even though the hosts try their best to deny all of these things). The most recent episode there was a guest host on an the opener convo was about the Left’s problem with over using or overemphasizing Free Speech. To them those who are marginalized in this country get too touchy on these subjects and ultimately need to “be cool” and deal with our right racism, homophobia, or sexism. They’re of the mindset that all speech is equally valid, who believe the notion that language can NOT be violent yet trying appeal as modernity. The thing about their version of western liberalism is it manages to give equal treatment to differing viewpoints & opposing speech in a way that always favors the far right who are violent. For example "He says you're a subhuman ape unworthy of rights, you say you're a human being with a history that should be taught in schools. What matters most is that we preserve the freedom to debate it." And it’s this level of willful ignorance that is hurtful to a listener like myself who has done the historical research as to how we got here as a nation. We are witnessing the pure radicalization and incitement to violence from a fascist and authoritarian Far Right and Republican Party; there is no denying it. And to consistently run their talking points through a filter as if there is any credulity or logic that needs to be heeded is intellectually dishonest; it’s as if they want marginalized people to get over it and listen to what the fascists have to say sometimes. What? People like this will be the first ones shocked when American democracy falls and is gutted completely; yet somehow they will blame those who were the canary in the coal mines because a 20 year old privileged libertarian didn’t quite agree with the approach. “Intolerance against intolerance isn’t intolerance.” PS. That guest host who try to say Abortions are less necessary or in some other category from basic health care either has never had an abortion nor know someone that’s had one OR she doesn’t care about those that have. I turned it off immediately after she said that. It was the last straw for me with this faux refined podcast. How’s that for Free Speech?Read full review »

I think the show has potential if they’re able to stick to calling out the Left and the Right.
