“Julie, thank you!
Melissa, Drew - thank you!
To anyone reading this review: if you’re looking for a podcast to better understand attachment styles, or maybe you’re desperate for answers, look no further!
I have been on a quest to understand why I act and react the way I do. Like Drew, it’s easier to blame myself for everything. I get why he wants to “understand it” and fix things. But when he can’t, he will avoid it until the pain goes away just enough to “reconnect” yet the experience lives on in the body.
I just finished listening to the latest episode “what happens when the avoidant partner faces the anger“. I find myself yelling in the car, trying to speak up for Drew. Buddy, I feel you! Everything you’re experiencing at home is heavy! You are putting in the work. You’re confronting parts of yourself that would have gotten shamed. I commend you for your bravery!
Like exercising, you need rest days. Going out with friends allows you to put down the dumbbells and rest so you can come back and keep working on this. Going on vacation to celebrate your anniversary allows you to put down the dumbbells and she was asking you to workout. Rest days are needed! (IMO)
I am learning so much from this podcast!
(Melissa, if you end up reading this, you are a wonderful mother! You care so much for your kids and Drew. Listening to the episode of the family vacation, I wanted to throat punch Drew’s Uncle! (Or whoever it was) That was NOT Ok! Plus, you’re desire to feel like a teammate with Drew is clear. Validation. Love. Connection. The need to feel like You’re not only enough but you are just right for Drew comes through loud and clear! You go girl!)
Keep up the great work!
Anyway, thank you all.”
