I look forward to hearing your weekly podcast, excellent work and great presentation. Keep up the good work, I wouldn’t recommend changing a thing!

unoriginal, bland. It’s just all social justice and no originality. You had such a great opportunity when Michael left.

Piya Chattopadhyay is a delight to listen to. Object and insightful, but always with a touch of kindness in her interviews.

I am so sad this Sunday morning show has gone from world class current affairs radio (with Michael Enwright) to “human interest” dribble with Piya Chattopadhyay . I don’t blame Piya. I blame the CBC.

I don't think Piya is a very good host. She is at times surprisingly opinionated and unnecessarily pointed with her criticism of her guests. She causes me to cringe more than I like. I hope the CBC works to find a better host for this once great program.Read full review »

I am an avid podcast listener and have recently discovered this. I LOVE it! Piya is an expert interviewer who I really enjoy listening to. The topics are timely, meaningful and relevant. I always learn something! Great job Piya and CBC.

I’ve been listening to Sunday Magazine for years. Change is difficult, but Pia has handled stepping into big shoes masterfully. The topics have really resonated with me. Maybe the benefit of a host which is of the same demographic and life experience? Anyway, rock on Pia!

Have given the new show a fair try, but now find I would prefer listening to old Sunday Edition shows with Michael Enright. I’m grateful they are still available, because Sunday mornings with Sunday Edition were special. It’s no longer the case with Sunday Magazine.

Michael Enright’s ability to humanely connect with a wide variety of guests “over the radio” was unparalleled. Some of Piya Chattopadhyay’s interviews this year have been pretty good. A few have been cringeworthy. None have had the electric connection and depth that was so frequent when Enright...Read full review »

I was really excited to hear that Piya was taking over the show because the previous host was cringe worthy. Sad to see all the boomers hating on Piya in their reviews. Piya is an excellent interviewer and I look forward to anything she has a hand in. Keep up the great work and thanks!!!

Sorry- Need new host and new producers to find better guests

This podcast is the worst of CBC. A focus on woke topics, interviews with Empathetic non-questions. A waste of Sunday morning.
akdhkane via Apple Podcasts · United States of America · 02/14/21
The topics have become lame, mostly unimportant, and get dragged out to fill time. I miss the pacing of theSunday Edition. I also miss Enright’s opening monologue... it showed that he put thought into whatever current event was significant. Can Pia try to show a little more interest please?

CBC Radio is the gem of Canadian culture. Sunday Magazine (replacing Sunday Edition), As It Happens, and The World At Six form the trifecta of current affairs broadcasting anywhere in the World. Love that I can get this as a podcast, as it is difficult to listen or live stream outside Canada. Do...Read full review »

I miss Michael’s way of interviewing. He always sounded genuinely curious in his guests and the topic being discussed. My request - please create a separate podcast segment for each topic in the show ( as done for “The Current”) When the whole show is lumped into a single podcast it’s...Read full review »

The previous show had a wide range of guests and was less controversial than this new program. I find the slant here to be far to the left and Pia does not challenge their viewpoints like Michael would. Could be her bias, but it is not working.

I cringed when I heard that Piya was going to be the new host, and my concerns have proven to be justified. Her interview style is just....bad. It makes me uncomfortable for her guests at times, and I don’t understand how she has been continually promoted over the years to the point that she has...Read full review »

I just listened to my first Sunday Magazine after being a Sunday edition fan for a long time. I like that you are listing the topics. Could you also list the times that each topic starts? Thanks

I don't want to listen to the entire podcast. Now I don't listen at all. Pls go back to providing the actual time within the podcast when each segment begins, and not the duration of each one like you did in the summer. No times now!Read full review »

Piya Chattopadhyay is a wonderful Sunday morning listen. Previously, she had developed a style where she heavily emphasized occasional words. Thankfully she has reverted to her original, mellifluous style.

You just don’t get it, do you? Same with when Cross Country Checkup picked a new host.

Great show, but very annoying that it doesn’t come out at the same time each week! A programme of that length and interest gets built into one’s schedule. Great irritation again this week.

Michael Enright is among the very few hosts of weekly podcasts who engages a listener’s spirit, intellect, and engagement. The geography of and the “lay of the land” of his interests are truly amazing! Not limited by his Province of residence, his mind reaches out to connect with people,...Read full review »

I usually listen to this over two days, Saturday and Sunday. I used to catch it live on Sunday but nowadays I rely on podcasts to get my fix. This is basically my only news source as well as the most Canadian cultural contemporary complete and comforting podcast around.

I thuroughly enjoy this podcast. Stories told are meaningful, well thought-out and well-produced. Listening is a treasured activity.

As a listener for years on CBC radio please tell me why you can’t have this in my feed on Sunday morning. I think we all live with the illusion that your there in the studio doing the show on a Sunday. Just feels like something in a can now. Like yesterday’s newspaper.

The finest in public radio hosted by a great news person who always seems to have actually read the book etc.

So few exist in the same upper echelon of talk show host and conversationalist, Michael Enright. The Sunday Edition is a jewel to be appreciated for as long as it endures. I'm glad it's returned to its rightful 3-hour format!Read full review »
