This podcast is so engaging and you can definitely feel the through-line between this podcast and the Parts Unknown/Bourdain brand. Fascinating guests and conversations. Loving it.

Love how the hosts travel around and talk to people. If more people did this, America (and the world) would be much less divided. Fun and informative!

Thank fug for The Trip. Normal people talking rationally. Good conversation’s all we’ve got and this is a wonderful celebration of that simple and complex truth. Much appreciate the paywall collapse in this time of covid.

Huge Bourdain fan and Nathan does an amazing job paying homage to his boy. Episodes are a great listen, relaxing and different from many other Podcasts. If you are interested in food, culture and different points of view, you will not be disappointed. Nathan, thank you!

Thank you, Nathan, for keeping this podcast going during the pandemic. Your interview technique and narration somehow cast hope through harrowing experiences of real people. It helps during this very diffcult time.

What more could you want from eavesdropping on conversations and insights from interesting people? A delightful ramble through macro to micro, that keeps a thoroughly grounded and informed (if irreverent) perspective. Love it!

One of my very favourite podcasts- great interviews with people who bring genuine insights into a wide variety of cultures. Pleased to see it back out from behind the paywall.

I always used to listen to this show (pre-Luminary) under a mango tree at my favorite bar in Senegal. I was disappointed when they went behind the paywall (though come on, you’ve got to respect the hustle/who amongst us wouldn’t), but am incredibly happy they’re back. Hop back on the bandwagon,...Read full review »

I’m disappointed this went behind a paywall. Bummed because as I understand that podcast need to make money but as someone who was donating to podcast and supporting them, it’s disappointing I

An excellent two person conversation podcast featuring a new, interesting guest every week. The interviewer, Nathan Thornburgh, is a skilled journalist who always allows his guest to speak.

First few episodes were fascinating, story driven vignettes. Then it devolved into incredibly boring interviews where the editor just flies around the world to drink and have aimless conversations with his friends. I love Roads & Kingdoms, I’m disappointed they’d put out such a half-assed...Read full review »

A wonderful sharing of family history here. Thank you to Yukio and as always to Nathan for enriching our lives with caring conversations. I love this podcast. Nathan does a great job guiding conversation, and I’d love to come hang out for at least one of these. However, hugely disappointed that they’ll be moving to Luminary (where you have to pay) in a few weeks. I get that everything is a cost/benefit, but a lot of others seem to...Read full review »

There's something so relaxed, improvisational, and unpolished about this podcast that I feel like I'm hanging out with Nathan and his guests. (Hey, pass me a glass). The Trip is a great show for anyone who loves food, travel, adult beverages, and inspiring conversation. Cheers.Read full review »

These stories are amazing. Uneven love the ads. Don’t let the reviews about the one story with a woman who has a closed mind put you off. Travel the world in this podcast far off the tourist tracks. Learn about people. I can’t say how much I love this!!

The narrators finding other cultures’ customs “weird”, their food “gross”, etc. was a real bummer. For a podcast that is titled “the Trip”, you would think there would be more open mindedness for how others live and appreciation for diversity. I’m disappointed by the narrow perspective.

Episode 1 about the Amazon was a "I'm a western American who doesn't understand other cultures so let me tell you why they are stupid." Pretty terrible perspective to portray about another culture and place. Definitely will not be listening to other episodes.Read full review »

The Trip is a podcast I found at what almost looked like a recommendation page. The cover kinda caught my eye so I clicked the second podcast episode. It was about a trip through the amazon. Let’s just say I’m eagerly waiting for what they have next

Like, way too much likes and vocal fry and “sooooo” and just really annoying ways of talking. I tried listening to the iawaska episode but the aggravating way they all talked drove me away.

The telling of random stories from across the globe through a conversation is metaphorical to traveling to a distant unknown place and experiencing it. Please keep them coming!
