Send us a textIt's always exciting to review something just a little left of center on This is my Bourbon Podcast, even if it is directly related to a bourbon brand we know and love! New Belgium's collaboration with Four Roses resulted in Oakspire Bourbon Barrel Ale, a limited release beer that is widely available and highly anticipated by both bourbon and beer drinkers alike. But, how do Perry and Eric view it? Plus, they've got a Flying Blind that's all to familiar for the Whiskey Mutant's ...

THAT'S A CHECK! And what, pray tell, could possibly come out on top between the new Maker's Mark Cellar Aged, Booker's "The Reserves," and Russell's Reserve 15 Year Old Bourbons? Only one way to find out! Hope y'all enjoy this return for Perr Bear as he and Eric get back to what makes TIMBP best: dr...

Send us a textThe Wild Turkey brand has become as synonymous with bourbon as its master distiller, Jimmy Russell, has during his 70 year tenure at the Campari-owned company. In honor of a feat unlike any other in the industry, Turkey brought to market a bourbon that both honors and represents the legacy of Jimmy's storied journey at his home distillery in Lawrenceburg, Kentucky. This 8 year old, 101 proof bourbon celebrates a flavor profile that after one sip, anyone who's grown to know and l...

Send us a textIt never ceases to amaze me how similar collectors are across all mediums and spaces and scenes. From cars to baseball cards to comic books, everybody's hobby is driven by one thing: exclusivity. But the line between bourbon and shoe collectors is often so blurred that the Venn diagram at times looks more like a circle. And, when someone like Eric "The Whiskey Mutant" Smith is so deeply ingrained in both of those worlds, it means that he's the prime candidate to dissect just how...

Send us a textOkay, I know it's a bourbon podcast, and we get a little toasty sometimes, but it's not THAT kinda blackout. Seriously, what did you think I meant? Before we get there, though, we've got SO much to get to on this week's episode of This is my Bourbon Podcast, including an appropriately themed Flying Blind, Perry absolutely losing his mind as he can't remember the name of a Bills legend, and a review of the newest, coolest, bourye release from the finest of folks over at Jim Beam ...

Send us a textHailing from the great, rainy state of Washington comes a bourbon from the fine folks of Woodinville Whiskey Co. aged 8 years and clocking in at 100 proof. It's comprised of a high rye mash bill and was aged in a low char, heavy toast barrel that sets it apart from the typical makeup of Woodinville's numerous bourbons on the market. But, can it live up to the reputation that they've carved out over their nearly decade-long tenure on the bourbon market? That's what Perry and Eric...

Send us a textIn the pantheon of big bourbon reviews, it's hard to understate the importance of being handed something as weighty as the annual Four Roses Small Batch Limited Edition release. In 2024, it sees 3 recipes, between and 12 and 20 year old bourbons, and 108 points of proof making up its DNA. So, when we put it to the test, does it hold a candle to the This is my Bourbon Podcast level of scrutiny? We find out all that and more in this week's episode! Plus, Perry recaps his trip to K...

It's always a pleasure to welcome the folks from It's Bourbon Night back to the podcast, and having Chad on this week's episode is no different. Being a huge Jim Beam fan, it only made sense for us to review the new Knob Creek 10 Year Rye Whiskey and see how it stacks up in the annals of Beam's storied rye lineup. Eric also took it upon himself to put something extra special together and see if Chad could give his stamp of approval for the next round of Wheat Science. Enjoy.
