I agree this thing has good foley production but the writing can be pretty lame at times. Specifically, the narration when it continually explains things that really need no explanation. Like pointing out that DNA isn't invented in 1918... I'm pretty sure everyone who can picture the era knows DNA wasn't even an understood thing then. Give us a little history of DNA there instead. I also found myself rolling my eyes and tuning out parts when lines like " the Axeman is back in business. That's right the Axeman is back in business" are delivered. It feels like writing for children who they clearly state this is not meant for. The tag team narration is ok but it could easily just be one narrator because the voice that provides banter is unique but so far not very interesting. Plus the actually voice actors haven't honed their craft. The Axeman is a ham adding laughter in parts unnecessarily (and frankly annoyingly). Also some of the southern accents used are fans of Scarlet Ohara and are unaware of what an authentic 'Nawlins' dialect sound like. By episode 3 there is improvement but still raw. Good luck in the future --- this could be a 5 star podcast but isn't there yetRead full review »

Casefile podcast is a much better version. It's straight honest recalling of the case, not storytelling which makes it feel like you're telling scary stories around the campfire. Would love this podcast to improve as the topics are interesting.Read full review »

The case is really interesting but I could do without the corny music and extremely cheesy back and forth between the hosts. If they cut back on the dramatics it would be a great podcast. This case is dramatic enough without all the added eye roll inducing overacting.
