“I think that Untold is a really, really lousy programme. It's a grim, fascinating and profoundly important story, as told by a bunch of pompous fools with no storytelling ability whatsoever. The central players are never properly defined, there's no concern for narrative ("we'll talk about this thing more in two episodes' time") and the reconstructions are genuinely funny; performed by the hammiest actors a few favours could buy.
Everyone I know who listened to Untold took no time at all to abandon it. It's just as well: episode eight is the only one that actually makes sense, in and of itself and as part of the fragmented crapshoot of a narrative.
My one hope is that this scrappy and indigestible mess piques the interest of a proper storyteller.
Note: it's almost worth sticking around to hear the final few minutes of episode ten, because it appears to have been conceived by David Brent. A specially recorded song called "Untold" plays the show out, and my crippling embarrassment soon turned to anger. This show trivialised everything it touched, and the subject deserved so much more.”Read full review »

Of course it needs to be told again and in such an extensive way because it's been...”Read full review »
