Not convinced
The sheer numbers of people who meditate without injury underscore that the tragedies of this podcast were outliers. The narrator never asked why - even though they had limited meditation experience - why they signed up for intensive extreme retreat of so many days and hours. I do think the 10 day program should require participants to have multiple days of silent meditation under their proverbial belts though.

Whilst I feel for the people who have had these experiences and can empathise with them, I am on the second episode now and I am worried there is a serious lack of science so far. It’s odd that this pod has absolutely no examination of privilege, and the association between wealth and denial of mental health problems, something must always be “to blame”.
