I was so excited to see there was a second season of this podcast after having found and fallen in love with season one. I’m a woman in my early 40s (and a recovering actress- lol), so this resource has been invaluable. Not to mention it is funny, inspiring, and titillating!! i’m thrilled that a...Read full review »

As a 21 year old with a lot of life ahead of me, this podcast is a gift. It’s so lovely to listen to women who have gone through the trickiness of youth and come out on the other side so grateful and enthusiastic about life. Hearing these awesome women speak to their 21 year old self is so...Read full review »

Julia! What were you thinking? Unfortunately, opening with the Sedaris joke (which to be fair is hilarious if you’re not Catholic)guest bombed this interview. I would’ve loved to have heard more about how her career took off again in the second half of her life and navigating the industry...Read full review »

I’m an avid podcast listener but have never written a review. I’m so grateful to have found Wiser Than Me. These are the conversations that I’ve been longing for but didn’t know it. I love everything about this podcast. Julia is a delightful facilitator of important conversations with women who...Read full review »

What a great show! I love listening to the conversations Julia has with these wise women. Julia is charming, engaged, and so funny. Please keep them coming. The Jane Goodall interview is my favorite so far but I’ve enjoyed all of them. I’ve already shared this with four of my favorite women!

Love the idea and execution of this show. After the election please interview some women leaders from around the world if possible (thinking I would like to hear from Angela Merkel to cheer me up)…. Thank you Julia!

This podcast is EXACTLY what I have been missing. True, real, raw conversations. Thank you for this.

Every episode is wonderful! I loved learning how Jane Goodall celebrated her birthday on the beach with 90 dogs. That sounds like heaven. I have always enjoyed Cathrine O’Hara’s talent. Was it just me or did she subtly display a couple of snarky replies to Julia? Disappointing. Julia however is...Read full review »

In the wee hours, here in Australia, of 7 November 2024, after a day of watching hope drain away as the US election results flooded in, I felt bereft, so I listened to Julia LD’s chat with Catherine O’Hara. Another stellar interview, of course, but what lifted me out of my pit of depression more...Read full review »

Excellent premise. I’m adoring Julia’s interviewing style and questions. Feeling very positive about aging and hearing from these wonderful women. Update: loosing some of its sparkle though. And why using such young photos of guests when they’re supposed to be celebrating old age?!

I would really love to hear an interview with your Mommy!! She is so interesting and hilarious. (Now we know where you received your talent from!) She is fun, interesting, and I’m sure smarter than most of us. ❣️

I really enjoy all the positive uplifting content of this show. I always look forward to finding out who is being interviewed next. The guests and Julia’s interviews are great. The concept of this podcast is genius - garnering wisdom of the women who have come before us, and it hits so well when done but the wise and funny JLD. It makes me sad to write this review. In fact, I wrote a rave review for season 1. I loved the episode with Carol Burnett. I’ve listened to every single one of these interviews and have enjoyed each one. They’re funny, insightful and unique. I’m only 2 years older than Julia and my mom passed away when I was 29. This is a lovely, thoughtful podcast. However, why sooo many ads? I understand the requirement for some, but this is over the top. As such, I only listen if the guest is someone I really want to hear. And yes, there’s a paid, no-ads option, but it’s not worth $69.99/year US.

Julia, I cried too during the Jane episode. The two of you chatting made me feel seen. I too am an animal lover. My kids cannot go to sleep unless they watch Seinfeld…. But that’s another story. I’ve been enjoying this podcast since the beginning. What finally inspired me to write a review was the debrief with Julia’s mom after the episode with Nina Totenberg. I was walking in a public park, literally laughing out loud at the frog/fraud confusion. Haven’t laughed that hard in a while.

I generally like this pod but I feel like it often misses the mark with the wisdom we can gain from these remarkable women, with an unneeded emphasis on their roles as mothers and wives. Wish JLD was inviting women of color onto the show and showcasing their wisdom. Feels “unwise” to leave older indigenous and BIPOC women out of the conversation.

Julia SHAME on you. Jane Goodall lost her husband early. There is grief there. Do you want to make money off of her grief? How low class is that? How tacky. How carnival. This is making a spectacle of her grief b
