I keep finding more books to read, and I LOVE hearing the women guests share their stories and their favorite books.

Just listened to my first episode with Madeline Miller and absolutely loved it. Can’t wait to get home and download some of her recommendations. Vicki has a lovely interviewing style, could listen all day. Thank you for celebrating women’s writing so effectively.

I absolutely love this podcast. As someone who sometimes puts my favourite hobby of reading on the back burner due to the busyness of life, this podcast inspires me to prioritise reading as a life necessity. Each guest offers different perspectives on both life and books, and I love listening to...Read full review »

I’m only 3 episodes in, having listened to Emma Gannon, Annie Mac and Elizabeth Day. All of which were just fabulous. I now want to slowly but surely work my way through the long list recs.

I’ve listened to this podcast from the beginning and must say Vikki Hope is my favourite host so far The interview with Cherry Healy was great she was an absolute joy

I met her once and was awestruck, but it was the merest moment at a wonderful, crowded, celebratory party. I had never listened to any of her work anywhere and had no idea how brilliant and flexible and sensitive her mind is, or how acute and articulate and musical and loveable she can be as an...Read full review »

Great calibre of guests talking about far-ranging themes, and fabulous, cosy debates on books (with some super recommendations - my TBR pile has swelled since listening!)

I LOVED the last season hosted by the incomparable Zawe Ashton, but I can’t make this a 5 star review after listening to the irritating chat with Scarlett Curtis. The new host Vick Hope is fine, but I got very little from the latest episode, mostly due to the choice of guest, and what she had to...Read full review »
Nepotism? No thanks. via Apple Podcasts · Great Britain · 04/20/22
Usually leaves me with an urge to politely burn the patriarchy to the ground & often with new books to read or inspiration to re-read as an adult

Zawe’s hosting skills are phenomenal! I’ve loved the guests thus far and the rapport between they each have with Zawe. It feels like I’m listening in on two girlfriends talking life and how their 5 chosen novels influenced their journey. Great stuff!

I have enjoyed hearing these women’s varied stories and was surprised by so many unique recommendations. Inspired to add many of these titles to my reading list. Zawe leads with warmth and interesting follow up questions. Such an enjoyable hour.

Good to hear people’s experiences and views. I like that it doesn’t give too much away about the books so if you’re going to read them you don’t have to worry about spoilers. Hosts are all really good too.
lucykp2017 via Apple Podcasts · Great Britain · 10/02/21
I would prefer it to be more discussion about the books and less a general interview.

Just listened to the first podcast with Afua Hirsch and found her engaging and interesting. I would have liked a bit more information about the recommended books. She gave a detailed explanation of Wide Sargasso Sea but the other recommendations I didn’t get a sense of what the book was about if...Read full review »

So many interesting discussions. In 2021, when so many people think we live in a “Post-Feminist” world (Hell No!), this clever, charming podcast is a ray of sunshine. Very uplifting whilst also being real. Thanks!

I don’t know if you’ve heard but there are these women folk people and they’re pretty awesome. They’re strong and smart and actually pretty funny. I know, right?! Great guests, conversations and musings from the women’s prize. Love the podcast and love all the work you’re doing to support ALL WOMEN, especially currently in regards to trans rights. I feel very proud and hopeful for a better, fairer and more educated future for everyone.

There was so much laughter in Ruby’s story that totally went over your head! I don’t think you got her, and she probably should stick to interviewers who do get her, her spirit, her wit, her persona. I mean did you have to ask why do you say people in mental institution are ‘your people’? C’mon...Read full review »

The sound quality isn’t the best and I am surprised anyone would say the Moomins isn’t weighty. If you think that, you need to read the books again, more carefully.
