Heavy on the bitterness, surprisingly light on funny.
I thought the podcast was going to be the perfect format for Marc Maron, but I was wrong. If you are expecting long, bitter, and funny rants -- well, 2 out of 3 ain't bad. The problem is what's missing in this podcast, and that's the humor. Other reviewers are right; Maron is no Adam Carolla. While I disagree with plenty of Carolla's right-wing opinions, it's hard not to laugh at Adam's humor. By contrast, Maron comes off so vitriolic and annoying that it's almost a chore to listen here. I can see him appealing to hard core liberals who want to work themselves into a lather, but beyond that I'm not so sure. And some of the things he says are just so uninformed! I found myself talking back to my iPhone, offering up the obvious refutation of his arguments time and again, and ended up annoyed. Anyway, it will be interesting to see if he can sustain listener enthusiasm while offering such a lackluster product. This listener won't be tuning in again.Read full review »

Average at best. A hack comedian trying to make something happen. I'm sorry I'm sure he's a nice guy and all, but there is absolutely nothing funny about him. Jeff Ross sounded bored as hell while talking to him.Read full review »
